Los Angeles would be a wonderful place for them to get a fresh start.

Not clear to me why ANY San Diegan would want a major sports franchise to leave town.

dingwell got called up - no longer available for the P bowl Nah....Dingwell actually wants to win, and the Chargers are far too much of a mess right now.

I don't have a problem with Spanos except that he doesn't like confrontation and isn't a fan of change - even when it's clear that the status quo isn't working. When push comes to shove, though, I think he'll do the right thing this year. He'll do what he absolutely should have done last year - fire Norv AND A.J.

Not clear to me why ANY San Diegan would want a major sports franchise to leave town. I understand your point of view if you are a Charger fan. I am an Aztec fan. Having the Chargers in San Diego provides ZERO benefit for SDSU. If the Chargers stay the Aztecs will continue to ride the coattails of that organization and struggle to develop their own identity. SDSU will likely continue to play in the Q or some new NFL stadium (unlikely this gets built) if the Chargers stay. IMO this is not good for SDSU. Where to begin? Simply put, people only have so many entertainment dollars to spend. Currently, San Diego is unquestionably a Charger town. If the Chargers would move to LA people in San Diego would likely (depending on the quality of the product on the field) pay attention and shift some of those entertainment dollars towards Aztec football translating into more viewers, fans and revenue. A bigger issue is a stadium. Once the Chargers leave it will trigger a 5 year lease clause on Qualcomm stadium. This means SDSU will be forced to find a new home for thier football team within 5 years. Ultimately, this will result in SDSU building an "SDSU owned stadium" somewhere near or on campus at SDSU. An SDSU stadium need not cost a billion dollars as a Pro NFL Charger stadium wants/requires (well less than half that amount) or require as much land. It also does not need to seat 70-80k; more like 35k-50k seats (expandable in the future if need be). In addition, an SDSU stadium would have Aztec colors, signage, gift shops, advertising, concessions, locker rooms, etc (none of which the Aztecs have now)... Not to mention more of a college game day feel and atmosphere. Furthermore, the recruiting windfall the Aztecs would experience would be tremendous. I know for a fact that SDSU already has contingency plans in place for if the Chargers stay in San Diego or leave for LA. I hope it is the latter (forcing SDSU to act now). I don't like playing @ Qualcomm and tire of riding the coattails of the Chargers I understand that the Charger provide some benefit to the city. I would be fine with them staying as long as we don't play in the same stadium as they do. However, if they stay we would probably be forced to play in the same stadium.

Rivers is Bledose 2.0. He is actually mediocre at this point, but can still hurt a defense on a given day.
