First poster here, love this board. SDSU alum here. Anyhow, if you are a top recruit, how do you not want to play for SDSU? I won't name names but some top rated recruit probably should've waited before committing to the tumbleweeds of west Texas. I also read on Rivals that Shabazz was seriously considering SDSU 3 years ago when he visited with Shep. This win feels great. I feel vindicated for Fish for losing out on Powell and other recruits. Fish gets a lot out of his players.

I've always wondered the same thing. Awesome location, great coaching, awesome fans, good academics. Guys should be lining up to come play here.

For reals. Well I hope this further dispels the Big West ruining our team.

Yes, the program is on the rise and we have had a lot of success the past few years, but I think our facilities and budget are keeping us back. There is no basketball only facility here like the bigger programs have. Remember when the team took a 17 hour "charter" flight to Wyoming? I don't think the big boys have to worry about that. Until we are at least on a somewhat even playing field, SDSU will be overlooked by a majority of blue chip prospects. I just think we need an upgrade to take the next step towards elite status. Someone posted before a video of Kentucky's $30 million facility, but here it is. www.ukathletics.com/athletic-dept/craft-center.htmlHell, even the tumbleweeds of West Texas have a $14 million basketball only facility. www.utepathletics.com/sports/m-baskbl/spec-rel/utep-07-bbl-fsb-center.html

I just think we need an upgrade to take the next step towards elite status. Jim Sterk and the BW are pretty much saying no to this regardless. unless you're talking about an on campus stadium.

Nonsense. No one has said no to this...If anything, all signs point to this being the next thing on our list....We have no need for an on campus stadium....espcially since Qualcomm will be vacated by the Chargers soon.....or, if an unexpected agreement is reached for a new state of the art stadium downtown which we would be a part of. The revenue situation just has to play out first to see what we have to work with. I truly believe Fisher was assured that we would be building a practice facility a la the Mendenhall Center as part of the agreement to move hoops to the BW......and this is a much more important recruiting tool than conference affiliation....Look at UNLV since their practice facility was announced compared to before.

I understand the same. The prep work has started, all that is left is a money stream. Sent from my DROID RAZR using proboards

When did he say this? The only thing that I'm aware of that he said "no" to, was playing Alabama next year.
