Firstly, I love this kid and what he brings to the table all around. I do not see any weaknesses in his game. He is less raw than a couple other guys on the squad that I will not mention, but it's obvious. Our team could surely use him. Especially with JR struggling. A suspension here(happened), a banged up jaw there(happened and could have been worse) and we are Suddenly back to last year's short bench. Get ready LBF!!
Spoke with several peeps at the game last night and they were all shocked or disappointed for the kid.
Chime in............

Red shirting is a mutual decision. Shrigs could have said no.

I think it's just us. Some of the people who either can't read or just don't get it is amusing....

Do all teams have fans this dumb or is it just us? Its been an evolution. I remember around 2004,5,6 we would draw around 6-7k per game. Every time an Aztec received a pass where he was somewhat open, fans all around me would start screaming SHOOT, SHOOT, SHOOT. They hadn't yet figured out floor balance, shot clock usage, etc. It was hilarious. Now, I think have advanced to the stage where they can deal with a few negative things happening without leaving the arena and can help the team to victory. But it is a process............

I don't want to start another huge argument becaue I know I am in the minority on this board with respect to this opinion, but yes, San Diego fans in general are different, and not at all in a good way.

Redshirting is not a crime ... or a punishment. That is all.

Do all teams have fans this dumb or is it just us? The only way to cope is to take over the board with humor.

think long term. Shrigs could have a really good Freshman year or have a monster 5th year and lead the Aztecs into the tournament (hopefully he'll have 5 trips in a row at that point).

Shrigley, whatever...
Fans are fans. I have lived in Atlanta, Boise, DC, Baltimore, Fayettville and I have seen really little difference in how fans deal with coaches, wins, losses, teenagers playing a sport...

People are people. If you know personality types you can identify people by the way they write.
They have a reason for seeing the glass half empty or half full.
Over coming personality weaknesses is hard to do. You don't have to do that for personalty strengths. Don't take it personal or they will drive you nuts.

Red shirting is a mutual decision. Shrigs could have said no. ^^^^^^^ This I don't feel sorry for a kid who made his own choice to RS this season. If he didn't want to RS, all he had to do was say, no.
