Seems to me that with our weak and crumbling dollar that Chinese goods will get more expensive but that the destruction of our dollar is a much bigger worry. Is Obama up to the task of restoring order? So far it seems like they don't even know what is going on let alone have any kind of plan or policy to put in place that would make sense.

I want to be fair to Obama (yes, Bob, I really mean that!). But one must seriously wonder whether he is totally out of his league on so many issues that are part of a president's responsibilities. Economics is one such area. It's a tough job, to be sure. But there it is. As a matter of fact, the protectionist issue is one that is well understood. Look at the disastrous tariff act of 1930 (thanks to the GOP, let's not forget)! Surely Obama has heard about that instructive episode in our history. Yet, Obama has put a tariff on tires from China, an act that was bound to infuriate the Chinese. AzWm
