Anyone who thought that this SDSU football team was more than a 7-5 or 6-6 team was not looking at them objectively. SDSU lost a bunch of players to the NFL including a 4 year starter at QB and LB. And now it's obvious that the younger players aren't ready to take their place, yet. The SDSU football program, coming off Back to Back bowl seasons, isn't good enough to just "Reload". They still need a "Rebuilding" season once in awhile. Look at Oregon State the last 2 season. They were 5-7 & 3-9. Now they are a Top 20 team. SDSU is in the same boat. Stop calling for Coach Long's job. His Seat is getting warm for sure but Sterk won't make a move until the end of next season at the earliest so stop the "Next Coach" posts. Most all College football programs go through ups and downs and SDSU is no different. Nobody likes losing especially the Players and the Coaches. They are working hard and can still finish above .500. Let the season play out and then relax and enjoy SDSU Hoops.

But if hoke were here, this team would have won 18 straight.

But if hoke were here, this team would have won 18 straight. I think SDSU would have won more games if Hoke was still here just because the entire Coaching Staff was better but it's what it is. At least Michigan gave SDSU a Million dollars. ;D

SDSU hasn't had its "ups" yet. The sooner everyone understands the Rocky will not lead this program to the rankings, the better off we will all be.

Yeah, we're a 5th place MWC team. The pundits were right. Still a lot of work to do.
Oldie Out

Practice is closed so you knind of have to go on second hand reports whcih end to be either too optimistic or the opposite. Wit the exception of Ludwig and LeCharles, this staff has proven ot be prfetty much a failure. Even Ludwing is pounding square peg in a round hole, with Katz as a dropback qb. Our offense scored 26 points 339 yards. It got exposed ,eight in the box pressure make them throw.

Is there ONE Big East team we can beat today? Anyone? Sure Memphis is bad, Houston looks weak as a kitten, outgoing Pitt is a disaster and the 'cues are flat out bad.

Hindsight is 20/20, but there were a lot of people on this board predicting much better records than you indicate in your post. The reality is neither the recruiting or the coaching is up to snuff and there is no buzz at all around the football program. They need a major shake-up heading into the Big East.

Nobody in their wildest dreams thought the defense would be this bad. Just when did Rocky morph into Barry Lamb?

The odd thing is that Phil Steele (who seems to generally know what he is talking about) predicted that our defense would be improved over last year!?

We won't change coaches heading into year one in the Big East. Maybe a year or two in. Deal with it.

Almost every big play on defense last year was made by Jerome Long or Miles Burris. I was worried we wouldn't be able to replace those big impact plays. However, I didn't think the defense would be THIS bad. Outside of McFadden, that defense is sorely lacking in impact athletes.
