Beau Sandland? What's the hype?

I really cant see the big deal here with this recruit and let me show you why. We already have an amazing Juco TE named Aaron Boesch that no one seems to be paying attention to. Lets post some comparison stats. These two played against each other. Boesch destroyed him in stats!

Aaron Boesch 6'5" 230lb. TE 2011 (4.54 forty)
Played at Santa Monica Junior College (same school as Issac Bruce, Bruce Smith,and Chad Johnson). Went 8-2 (Beat LA Pierce 37-31). Won American Pacific Conference. First championship in 20 years and played in the American Bowl. Recruited as a 3 star TE. 1st Team American Division/Pacific Conference Tight end and Region VI All-California First Team Offense Tight End. (Unanimous Votes)

Receiving stats: 10 Games played, 26 receptions, 388 yards, 14.9 yards per catch, 5 touchdowns, Longest 78 yards, Average per game 38.8.
Entered the 2011 season as a NCAA Qualifier out if Highschool with a 3.6 GPA and was eligible to leave Junior College after one semester leaving him with 4 years to play 3.

Beau Sandland 6'5" 245lbs. TE 2011 (4.65 forty)
Played at LA Pierce Junior College. Went 3-8 in the American Pacific Conference ended at 5th(Lost to Santa Monica 31-37). No Bowl game. No All-Conference honors.

Receiving stats: 9 games played, 20 receptions, 265 yards, 13.2 yards per catch, 2 touchdowns, Longest 46 yards, average per game 29.4 yards.
Entered the 2011 season as a NON-NCAA qualifier and has to receive his AA in order to transfer. 2 years Junior College. Has 3 years to play 2. Recruited as 4 star TE.

Not trying to insult the new TE being recruited by SDSU because we could use as many TE as we can next season, but what is the big deal about this guy? And why aren't we using this Juco TE we already have? Maybe Sandland has a great promoter and the media is getting caught up in the hype?

Nobody is debating that Boesch can play. IDK why they are even getting involved with this Sandland guy so late with all the offers he's got. I hope Boesch can be like Escobar and be a star here. GO AZTECS

There looking for another JC tight end given all the graduations. Tyler Henderson of San Jacinto will be at the game tonight he is 6"6 230 a qualifer already so he can be here for srping ball.

From what I've seen and heard at practices the Boesch kid doesn't belong. Looks weak, not as fast as advertised, small. I recall watching him in the spring having too much trouble blocking the DBs in drills. Add that to the fact that he was here in spring summer and they still are redshirting him when they need some guys to step up tells me he's not as advertised and staff thinks he's not ready. Maybe a 1AA player

Nonsense, They always intended to redshirt him. He is definitely a solid prospect. needed to put on more muscle mass,he has good speed for a tight end. We are up to our eyeballs in tight ends DJ, Hewitt, Adam, Escobar. Hewitt is a senior and so is Shields,they moved Quigley to tackle and if escobar goes Pro then that leaves us with two tight ends. Your not a practices they are closed,and who are the guys who tell you this crap. it is not the players.practices.

Give the Boesch kid to Coach Hall for a year, then get back to us. You saw what happened to Quigley. Went from a 240 lb WR/TE to a 300 lb starting tackle and put on about 40 lbs in one offseason.

Put Boesch on the same program, you'll get a monster with no dropoff in speed with hands. Just coach him up on blocking technique.

Add that to the fact that if he was 6'5 235 running 4.6 with great hands, that he would be the 2nd punch to gavin. hewitt, shields, and roberts are more blocking TE's so you would think Besch would be playing as a receiving TE right now to get Defenses off of escobar.
