Hmmm...she is ranking Nevada ahead of us. Do you think that will happened?
I will be extremely happy if we finished 2nd and win a bowl game this season!

It's a bad link at this moment.
By the way, if we are supposed to go 8-4 but 6-2 in conference, which of the three non-conference "patsies" are we expected to lose to?
AzWm

AzWm The record implies only two non-conference losses, and I'm sure they have Washington as one of them. Take your pick for the other

The prediction shows a lot of respect IMO, considering New QB, an Hilman not back.
Just a few years ago we were in the ESPN bottom 10, and deserving of it.
I just hope we win a Bowl. Any Bowl. Winning is better than losing. I know that much. Just ask the Cajuns.

He wants to know which OOC games we will lose besides UW. BTW, below is a working link to the article as the one in the OP gave me a 404 error: sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2012/writers/holly_anderson/08/24/mountain-west-conference-preview/index.html

I can't see two non-conference losses but in every prediction there it is (2-2). That seems like a lot of respect for either North Dakota, SJ State or Army.

I lurk occasionally on the SJSU board. Most of their fans have been saying for months that they'll be sky high to play us (which they will) whereas we will overlook them (which we could) and the result will be a Spartans victory.
I tend to think our staff is competent enough to bang the players over the head with the fact SJSU not only has won the last two games between the schools but beat the crap out of us up there in 2008. Assuming we therefore don't overlook SJSU, the 3-3-5 will drive their JUCO transfer QB nuts and they won't score enough to win.

Their ex-Cal Poly coach is going to add a lot of wrinkles. Don't forget, Lindley didn't really have a bad game against them last year. We had 2 muffs that could have been TDs, but that's normal in games. If their QB didn't fumble during their drives we would have lost. The 3-3-5 couldn't stop them, Army stopped themselves. This game will determine if Rocky is smart enough to counteract their attack. Supposedly, man for man we have better athletes.

Agree with most- Boise is not as good as advertised and UNR is overinflated.
Its ours to lose.

You can call them muffs if you want, but the defense was quicker and in places they were not expecting. They could have taken their eye off the ball. The game was closer than it should have been, but 12PM EST did not help either. This game is at home, and I just don't see us losing this one. That being said, I hate option teams.

A "W" over the Dogs could mean a 7-0 start. I don't see us losing to anyone other than the Huskies, Boise and maybe Nevada. So my prediction is 9-3 with a bowl win to make it 10-3.

Tell me, how many times did Army punt? BTW, I don't buy that starting time excuse.

I guess those where all accidental and had nothing to do with our defense. You can imply all you want, but final score is all that matters. Our defense was flying around that day. I'm not saying they were great that day, but a by product of our defense is supposed to be turnovers. Army had two fumbles in their first game against NIU. Eight in their second against us. And then two fumbles against Northwestern the game after us. Hard to deny what that implies.

OK, I'll accept the implication that in order to stop them we'll force them to have multiple fumbles again. I'm sure this is going to blindside their coach.

Well - since we play Army again in a few weeks we will see what happens this year (which is all that matters)
Personally, I can't wait for this game ! I am hoping to see a bunch of muffs ;D
