Hawaii is 2-6 all time against SDSU at Qualcomm and has lost the last five. The average score of those five was 45-22. Gotta think Kaumeyer will pull out all the stops to try to keep us from putting up that many this year but Hawaii returns just four of the starters from a defense which gave up 29 ppg last year and they lose the two guys who were far and away their leading tacklers with 30+ more than anybody else had. We should score often. We have had some success against Hawaii at home, but I was in attendence at one of the losses at the Q (San Diego Stadium) in '81 (1981 not 1881 wise guys!). Hawaii had a pretty good team, and ran all over us winning 28-10. You can bet Norm Chow will have them ready for us, and may put in a few new wrinkles on offense since that is his specialty.

Hawaii is going to be awful. They're transitioning from a decade of red gun football to a pro set. Especially on offense, they are going to be BAD.

Bad offensive showing after bad offensive showing by Chow are worrisome (granted, running other coaches' stuff), his age and this being his first chance are worrisome. If he goes hands off, runs his O, (isn't T(h)om K. there now?) let's the DC run his stuff Hawaii could be fine, but they have so much work to do, they seem to be at least a year away even if everything goes well.

The only reason I give them some respect is because I went to their home website, and checked out their history. Did you know Hawaii has more winning seasons in football than we do? They have had quite a few , and do have a winning tradition. Yes, we should be favored, but we need to watch out for them. Not worried, just cautious.

What do any of those winning seasons have to do with this team this year? I hear you on being cautious though.
