And he stated he wanted to use this as a model for future bailouts. Government should never be in the business to be in business. Period.

I get a sinking feeling every time that I think about this whole GM issue. How bond holders, stock holders and the tax payers all got taken to the cleaners to benefit unions and now GM is about to go under again.

The "cars" government motors is producing are so ugly. But, of course, that is one way to save gas mileage. You drive an ugly car and you really don't want to drive it much. Ever notice how your friends always seem to opt out of taking your car? What friends you do have, always want to ride in your other friend's BMW 500i. It's a cool looking, high powered car...

The problem with the American car manufacturers is that their warranties are generally only 36,000 miles. If they really want to make a dent, make them 100,000 powertrain and 60,000 for all else. I'm getting a KIA really because of the warranty(and price of course).

Kia? You want a jap car. Fine. I'll stick with my Ford. KIA is not Japanese! I understand the sentiment, but I will buy American when both the quality is up and the government stops subsidizing. I know Ford was not part of that, but they still do not build a car that can touch my Japanese made car. The word "Jap" is as offensive to me as any such word about any minority. (except A Rabs)

Yep. $25 Billion, where much of it went to pay off auto unions that contributrd heavily to barry while stealing bondholders entire investment. He also let the pensions of non-unionautoworkers go bankrupt. Yet, where's the media on this???

Some of it is accounting gimmicks according to the link. I took a look at their Balance Sheet. I don't think I will be buying that stock nor do I hold much hope in them getting to the point they can pay back the taxpayers.
