I was a little confused on tv tiers and what they meant. I found this article that explained it so I could understand and outlined deals for the major conferences. It will be interesting to know how tier 2 & 3 rights will be handled in the new BE tv deal. m.espn.go.com/general/blogs/blogpost?blogname=playbookdollars&id=705I am hoping the teir 3 rights get picked up by someone other than a local san diego network so us out of towners can see every game for football. ie. Fox SD?, which is offered by directv

Fox SD?, which is offered by directv It's more than just us greedy out of town Aztec fans. It's about recruits and their families. If it comes to 4SD or TW sports, their family and friends may never have a way of seeing them. It is a factor in them deciding to come here. For most I would guess it's more important than whether we are a Nike school or an Adidas school.

I'd like to see Google or Apple bid for the second or third tier rights because ultimately you are going to need worldwide visibility to maximize ad revenues. Yahoo or Microsoft could do the same but their management doesn't seem to understand online tv.
