Too many Aztec fans are not aware that their school actually did win a national title in basketball. It was in the tournament of the forerunner of the NAIA, but that still ranks as a great achievement. Also, Milton "Milky" Phelps, the star of that team, made it to the Helms All-America team that year.
I wonder if any of that 1941 team is still alive. If so, I hope someone will record an interview with him about those days.

I was watching this video a few days ago. I didn't know he passed.

WWII veteran, served in the Navy, played ball vs Jackie Robinson. Belated thank you for your service to our country Mr. Hodgetts.

THx for posting Tec, I had not heard. Harry was a great man , one of the classiest , honorable gentleman I know. If there ever was an Aztec for Life it was Harry Hodgetts. He will be missed.
