This has probably been discussed a zillion times on here, but I am thinking of switching from Cox to Direct TV which would mean I would lose channel 4.
What are my "Aztec" implications of making this switch? Are the games that Cox 4 picks up shown elsewhere on Direct TV?
Thanks for your help!

no one has any idea. Since we've got a foot out the door of the MWC, they sold the rights to at least the not yet mentioned aztec tv games to Time Warner, tv guru mattsarz speculates they'll use them to buoy their Laker Channel, but that doesn't launch until Oct.
In short: who knows?
Switch to directv in the long term it's the best - looking forward to 6 us open channels on directv in a couple weeks

I just switched from Cox to Direct TV, after working for Cox for 4 years the Kool-aid finally wore off. I can say its pretty awesome and even after promo's its cheaper than Cox. The only thing that sucks is getting use to new channels

the only gripe i have with Dtv is that sometimes the menus are incredibly laggy. Other than that I'd say it's hands down better than Cox.

What did you guys that switched do about internet and phone? People use land-lines still? I still use cox internet. It's about the best you'll find around here. ATT DSL sucks, satellite internet through Dtv (or hughes net or whatever they call it now) is way too price prohibitive and not as good as Cox. ATT DSL is rated (for downloads) at 6 mbps, cox is rated at 20 mbps or so. I've done a speed test on my computer at home and it came out about to 20 on cox. The prices are similar but Cox is way better, so it was a no brainer for me.

What did you guys that switched do about internet and phone? Still have Cox for both (with a newborn in the house I need the landline just in case) I was paying about $200 for the bundle WITH promos with Cox. Now with DTV and Cox I come out to about $130 with promos and after promos like $170 so it was win win for me

I'm looking online right now and the answer looks like a No, you are not tied into getting the 2nd season at full cost.

Here's the fine print: °2012 NFL SUNDAY TICKET OFFER: Package consists of all out-of-market NFL games (based on customer's service address) broadcast on FOX and CBS. Games available via remote viewing based on device location. Local broadcasts are subject to blackout rules. Other conditions apply. 2012 NFL SUNDAY TICKET regular full-season retail price is $199.95.2012 NFL SUNDAY TICKET MAX regular full-season retail price is $299.95. Customers activating the CHOICE Package or above or the LO MAXIMO Package will be automatically enrolled in the 2012 season of NFL SUNDAY TICKET at no additional cost and will receive a free upgrade to NFL SUNDAY TICKET MAX for the 2012 season. NFL SUNDAY TICKET subscription will automatically continue each season at special renewal rate unless customer calls to cancel prior to start of season. To renew to NFL SUNDAY TICKET MAX, customer must call to upgrade after the 2012 season. Subscription cannot be cancelled (in part or in whole) after the start of the season and subscription fee cannot be refunded.Only one game may be accessed remotely at any given time. Online access is only available on certain operating systems. Computer hardware, software, and Internet connection not included. Mobile phone access only available on certain devices. Additional data charges may apply. Please check with your service provider. Visit directv.com/NFL for a list of system requirements and compatible mobile devices. Short Cuts are available from midnight Sunday ET through midnight Tuesday ET. Visit directv.com/NFL for a list of system requirements and compatible mobile devices. Account must be in "good standing" as determined by DIRECTV in its sole discretion to remain eligible for all offers. So basically what I gather is that if you call after the season to cancel it, you're fine, but if you wait till after the first game of the 2nd year, you're on the hook for all of it. So just be proactive about it. Same goes for HBO --they give you 3 months free but then you have to call to cancel or they'll just keep charging you.

This is what I did, cancelled it after last game of season. I am gonna renew it again though, since they cut the price in half and sunday ticket is the best thing ever. The red zone channel is just so great.

I think RED ZONE is only available this year at a very much higher cost along with internet access.
