Went on a tour yesterday. The campus is so much bigger than when I was there. The guide said that the Love Library was named after "an early president", I protested, saying that he could not be an early president as he had been president when I was in school. The guide was such a sweet girl, she assured me that I could not be that old. ;D It is an impressive looking campus. The old quad area gives it the soul of an old school. The Mission architecture and the gardens was a good look. All the new buildings now echo that theme. The industrial look of the buildings from the 1950s is not as prominent as it was back in my day. It was so hot. We walked from the dorms on the east side of campus to the ARC on the west and back again. The guide tried to find shade whenever she could. Had to be over 90. Thank goodness for the Food Court by the bookstore, AC and good lemonade. It was a great visit and the hometown school has moved up the list.

It's changed drastically since I was there ten years ago.

they just need to make the college/montezuma intersection are better, as well as the medians going down campanile toward the school.
oh ya, and a football stadium on the field where campanile deadends into the school

I was on campus last February for the Wyoming and CSU games... first time I had been on campus in 5 years or so. I'm pretty sure I had a silly grin plastered on my face. The campus is gorgeous. If only we had the current amenities when I went to school (early 90s)...

I certainly hope the next improvement on their list is turning Adams Humanities into a pile of sewage-soaked rubble.

A geography prof once told me the state saved money on Storm/Nasatir by using old blueprints from a prison cellblock.
Do the renovations include a wrecking ball, by any chance?

I actually avoided taking classes if they were in either of those buildings. That is too bad for you, seemed to me that is where all the hot Psych and Sociology majors had classes. That of course was the only thing good about those buildings. They had all the charm of post WWII, behind the Iron Curtain, dormitories for the criminally insane.

A geography prof once told me the state saved money on Storm/Nasatir by using old blueprints from a prison cellblock. I always heard a version of that rumor, but it was related to the BAM building. If you look at BAM vs. Storm/Nasatir, it's a pretty close call over which was correct. Needless to say - that was some ugly ass architecture back in the day.

I visited my younger cousin at Fresno back when and they had the same buildings.

Adams Humanities might not be the worst looking building but good luck finding a class in that building. Really glad to hear that Storm and Nasatir are being redone, those renders look awesome.

WOW, if the buildings come out looking anything like those pics, that's awesome! Glad they're doing a patio on the west side of S/H halls, that's a really nice view. Really glad the new student union is keeping with the architecture, I'm very pleased with this.

I came back a couple of years ago with my young progeny after 15 years and barely recognized anything. Progress is good - better than watching 200 year old buildings rot while sitting on 20+ billion in the endowment like my other alma mater.
