This is one of the things that I think is so absurd - this country is always divided, hell, it was borne to be divided, dividing is the only way to keep this top from falling off the edge of the table.
it is a type of narcissism to think that bush or obama pushed this divided ship over the edge.
People ARE bigoted against Obama, people WERE bigoted against Bush.
This country survives because we mostly keep the wacos in line by never really doing anything.
We've been debating healthcare for 90 years, someone took their get out of jail free card and pushed it through; we'd been up Sadaam's ass for 15 years, someone took their get of of jail free card and invaded him. That is basically how the system works
We bitch about $#!+, one side that doesn't represnt anybody goes into power, their leader throws done their trump and clears the table, then they leave the game, and the other does the same.
It really is a good system, or turned out to be, because nothing really gets done, but we bitch about $#!+ and get angry at it for years and then each side gets one move per hand, only those hands are 4 years and everyone goes
