Doesn't read like we are......if so, then why no mention? If we are not, why not? Are his academics that bad?

I can see why we wouldnt be in the running for him at this point... some definite uncertainties (as with any player with academic issues) - but it looks more and more like we will land both Dakarai Allen and Roschon Prince - both highly touted wing players (January much better than both in my opinion). Then you throw in Shepard and Polee and potentially Jamaal Franklin again, and that is a huge log jam.

The reason why Brandon Heath was so special was because "it" doesn't happen very often. We have a program and we don't need to take chances like we did 4 or more years ago.
The odds are are that AJ will not make it in. And if he does, the odds are that he will struggle with a good possiblility of dropping out. APR is a factor.
Good luck to him and I wish him all the best. We just don't NEED to take chances like this anymore.

I see what you are saying, but I think it's off-base. Either we cooled on him or he cooled on us, but if other, more established programs are taking a "chance" on him, there is some ground to those looks they are giving him.

Have you stopped to think that maybe they have room to maneuver because of their APR status? BTW, I question whether UNLV should be included as being able to take chances. Like us, they lack the "tutoring" that the big boys have to keep the NCAA police at bay.
