If we're staying on 17 (why the F would you ever hit on 17 by the way) when the dealer has a face card, staying in the MWC when Utah, Byu, TCU, Boise and whomever they were going to take with them left would be like doubling down with a 4

I seem to remember the Holiday Bowl saying they wanted into the playoff rotation, and even talking about raising the payout. They should raise the payout and have the BE champ come out west. The west needs back a power bowl, other than fiesta and rose of course. But, what do I know...

He's stated it plainly many times. He cares more about having games within driving distance to HIM in Utah than he does about the overall health of SDSU athletics.
He is a testament to the $#!+ attitude that has permeated throughout a majority of our older alumni, not all obviously...

No one should really like the move as it is no more than a lateral step (from the standpoint of league stature) from what the MWC was a couple years ago. It's just a lateral move in stature from what the 2006-2010 MWC was, that's true. However, members of the 2006-2010 MWC received $1.2M per year in TV revenue. Even playing just football in the BE, we will receive at least four times that much. So it's definitely an UPWARD move in that sense. Further, as AztecBill has pointed out a time or two, the fact the PCAA will allow us to make our own deal with regard to tier 3 broadcasting of Aztecs hoops whereas the MWC kept that revenue, we could end up earning more than five times as much as in the MWC when it was at its peak. Of course, the NEW MWC is a complete turd compared to the 2006-2010, but as James has said, retiredaztec doesn't care about that. He only cares about his own self interest in being able to drive from SLC to as many SDSU road games as possible. So before agreeing with retiredaztec, other posters should keep that in mind.

will be nearing Sun Belt status shortly. You not liking the move doesn't change that. A ctually most of those Sun Belt teams have more growth potential than the teams left in the MWC.I can see five or six of those teams actually being somewhat relevant in football in the future, esp. the Florida ones. In the MWC, it's almost to the point where NONE of them belong in DIA football. Arkansas St is a sleeper in the convo about adding another western memeber, imo.

You're in for another 6-6 season so I don't know what you're on here crowing about.

It looks like it'll probably be a move upward financially but it's not the dollar number that matters; it's the amount relative to BCS programs. I always use Washington State as a comparison point. Washington State gets more than any other non-PAC team save Texas right now so that's not a good comparison...

If there's a university less deserving of the athletic riches it gets than Washington State, I don't know what it is.

Ole Miss CU Miss State Kansas According to Colorado fans Nebraska is their main historical rival. Though talk to Nebraska fans and no one even mentions Colorado. Colorado is as much as a historical rival to Nebraska as Washington State is to USC. Colorado is not a great football program, and never was. Probably the most delusional fanbase in the country, besides Notre Dame of course.

At least WSU won the Pac championship once when a certain former Charger draft choice was their QB. I don't know if Iowa State has ever won a conference title in football. And although their hoops teams were good under Eustachy, they haven't done much since Larry got sober and left.

Ole Miss CU Miss State Kansas I'm talking both football and hoops. Adding the latter sport to the mix obviously eliminates Kansas and Vandy basketball has been much better than Up-the-Wazzu. In football, Bill McCartney won a share of the NC in 1991 with all his Promise Keepers like Rae Carruth and Ole Miss was great in the sixties under Somebody Poole (Barney maybe?) and Archie Manning. Way better stretch of good teams than WSU has ever had. Ole Miss State I'll buy. Except for briefly when the guy formerly at A&M was cutting off bulls' balls to motivate his players, they haven't done diddly squat in football and have never been much in hoops either.

Colorado's 1 loss 1 tie mythical 1990 title is a joke. They needed 6 downs to "beat" a 4-7 Mizzou team. Most illegitimate title ever.
