I do not seeing us being a destination for any Penn State transfers. I think the lower Big Ten(Iowa,Indiana,Northwestern, Perdue) and the Big East schools like Rutgers (lots of Jersey kids at PSU)and Cincinnati will get some, maybe Temple. I still think we may get more five year senior from USC or other Pac Tens schools. New Coaches at UA, ASU, Wazzu UCLA sometimes cause a few guys to leave as well. I would not be surprised to see a corner back in that mix when they see Wade and McFadden leaving(Wade may get another year though) I believe we may have a break through year and that will really supercharge our recruiting along with the Big East move.

It is worse than thought yesterday, they have 85 on scholarship and if you assume an athlete is there for 4.5 years then they will have to replace 19 players next year. If you assume 5 guys leave now and another 5 choose to leave in January when there will be open scholarships at other schools and the can only add 15 in the 2013 class you end up with 71 on scholarship next year. If you assume 19 come off each year to graduation and another 2 to 3 due to stuff then they will be down another 7 guys each year. Which means after two years they could be at 64 scholarship guys and when the sanctions are over they would end up at about 50 guys on scholarship by the end.

Yeah I looked at that, but it included Walk-ons 96 total guys. It does show that next year will be really bad as 29 come off the roster and you have to think at least 25 are on scholarship. 25 minus 5 leaving now and another 5 leave in January and they could be at net 65 by the fall and in the 50's by fall 2014. If they mostly get marginal talent in years two, three and four it could be a decade before they challenge for anything as Mr OSU said yesterday.

So, they're going to suck for a long time. Time to schedule PSU!

U$C and many, many other schools have already started making calls to PSU regarding players......... can't see any downside for SDSU to do the same if they can identify players that might be an instant fit......go for it.

The more Penn State kids who transfer to USC, the less California, Arizona and Nevada kids USC will sign. It's trickle down recruiting and therefore good for us blue collar guys.

Half the guys saying they are staying could do no better than a MAC school, so what else are they going to say.
