They're going to have players leaving. Not a question of if, but how many. We recruited this guy and since he's got three years of eligibility left, you have to think he would seriously consider leaving State Penn, er Penn State: rivals.yahoo.com/bwi/football/recruiting/player-Ryan-Nowicki-108338;_ylt=AhTbw91GEFtjNkG_dUZrhujIrJB4Would we have competition? You can bet on it. However, assuming the NCAA would waive the need to sit out a year as the NCAA did with USC, the guy could obviously start for us immediately. Your thoughts?

Good find. I wouldn't be surprised if he gave us a look.

go after him. Doesn't hurt to take a flyer and see if he gives SDSU a second chance.

So glad I don't know any kids that play youth sports in Lakeside.

I would think that they would allow players to transfer, but we'll see.

I would think that they would allow players to transfer, but we'll see. It would be a shame for the kids to be punished for something that was so far above their heads. When they were offered their scholarships, it was with the knowledge that everything was okay.

Look at the schools he visited (USC, Michigan, Washington), I doubt he'd transfer to SDSU over them.

PSU did it to themselves, the whole thing was a farce, integrity, not! It goes back 20 years, and there are accusations that it goes back 35 years. We know Paterno knew for at least 15 years. Nothing on the field is more important than children having their lives destroyed. Who cares about some kid who may have thought about playing at SDSU, but this board is about football, not some loser fronting for a legend, er loser who supported a child rapist.

Having done my graduate work at PSU in 69/70 I was there for the start of the Paterno era before there was a "WE are Penn State". Left Happy Valley to only return twice in 40 some odd years. However the Internet let me follow PSU football, basketball stunk then and now. Sandusky was a defensive genius in the 90's. Remember SI spoke of him as the coach in waiting. So when he retired in 1998, I could not figure out why. Why would you retire from an elite program when you are 55 and at the top of your game? Strange I thought. He left coaching, no other defensive job, no HC job, no analyst job; just dropped out. Now we all know the rest of the story, he was fired for his perverted sexual practices. Problem is PSU covered up and now they are paying, Paterno fell from admired to spit upon, criminal indictments will follow for administration heads; PSU football program has been given the slow death sentence, a decade of losing football to remind everyone what the purpose of football is. The Craig James taint at SMU is there however all big programs pay athletes however big programs don't shield sexual predators. PSU will forever be remembered as the program that raped young men of their life. Sad day for everyone.

60 million in fines, 5 years probation, 4 year bowl ban, 20 less scholarships...remember that sport Penn State used to play? They also will not receive any B1G bowl revenue for the next four years. Another estimated 13 million out the window. And is looks like players will be allowed to transfer anywhere as long as they are eligible, including within the conference.
