Author Black pulls no punches. Not a huge news flash, of course; we all know how costly the last decade has been to America's economic and political status. Let's leave Obama out of the discussion here. George W. gets, let's face it, some serious if not vituperative, criticism. (But look at the author's statement about the legality of the Iraq war, if not its wisdom.) Overall, this is a blunt and sobering accounting of what the War on Terror has cost us. (On the other hand, we couldn't very well just do nothing after 9-11-01.) www.nysun.com/foreign/lost-decade-is-the-price-of-success-in-war/87793/AzWm

Can't say I disagree.

I must say that I agree as well for the most part. Hind sight is so clear and I know how things could have been done much cleaner and quicker if we were not so caught up in worry about collateral damage and political correctness.

I think this is a rare thread where the most of us agree. Maybe not on the why and how but on IT.

Imagine if a few of those brave souls on flight 93 carried a few glocks or stens?
If the govt just allowed all of us legal, citizens to carry a gun...but no, they had to spend, spend, spend, spend.
You're right that the vituperative...but we did have Hillary Clinton and the DemocRats casting a yes vote for this spending...
If your current, cigarette addicted Prezident would have reduced the federal debt from $9 trillion to $7 trillion, he gets re-elected. BUT NO he raises the debt to $16 trillion in only three and a half years, and doesn't stop smoking...jerk.

HAM Really? You packing? As near as I can from seeing you at the tailgaters, driving up in your Mercedes, packing is the last thing I'd imagine you doing. Besides, your wife is quite wonderful but I suspect if you tried to pack a weapon she'd kick your wimpy, accountant ass up one side and down the other. =Bob
