Squabbling over past issues is a complete waste of time. Let's think ahead and maybe even "out of the box" to figure out how we're going to turn this program around. I'm confident the current coaches are going to get it done but probably not this year. Let's not get too discouraged if we get smoked this weekend. I like the attitude among the players and the coaches. There was no lack of effort in the Idaho game and if one of the two dropped interceptions had been handled that would have been a different game and likely a "W". I expect nothing but an all-out total effort this Saturday because anything less is going to be a blowout.

I imagine that Brady Hoke is pretty upset right now, but he's smart enough to know that the Aztec FB team is not going to win games such as this last one without a few more better than average players. Also, it's not unreasonable to imagine that a few more weeks getting used to the new offensive and defensive systems will help the team improve noticeably.
We are still early in the season. Yes, so far the team has seemed to regress each week, but that may change. Right now there isn't much else to do but to have patience. If this team can end up with four wins and show improvement we should feel at least moderately satisfied.
However, realism dictates that it may be a couple of years more before Aztec football reaches the point where not falling below .500 is a given. As they say, it's a process. Too bad this process is starting over for the third times in a decade.

What is going to take time is improving the kind of recruit that we can sign. We have to take the two and some three star kids and coach them up hard until we start to win a few more games and can then get a couple four star kids. It would be better if we had more really good players that just needed to be coached up the right way to give us quick improvement. It does not look like that is the case. I hope that I am wrong and we get much better by seasons end.

How did Boise do it? Are their admission standards lower than ours? Was it largely better coaching? Here's the thing; you can't tell me that we can't replicate what Boise did. We may not actually make the progress Boise has, but if that's the case it's not because Boise has it over us as a university (i.e., weather, academic standing of the university in question, on campus facilities, etc.).
Bottom line; if Boise (and Fresno, for that matter) can do it, we can. Again, we may not get the job done, but if we can't we must look in the mirror and take the blame.

AzWm In reviewing BSU's admission standards, I would classify them as a "Super Junior College". Basically, if you can write your name on the SAT and have a GPA over 2.0 you will get in. If I read their data correctly, if you are over 21 you don't even need to take the SAT to be admitted on a 'provisional' basis.

Brady Hoke will get it done.....IF we give him the time to do it.
Quit rotating coaches every 3-4 years.

We've had the rare and unfortunate circumstance of having two straight exceptions. We might have a third if Hoke continues to insist on making our linemen lighter rather than heavier. I didn't do well in physics, but I do know that it takes more force to move a heavy object than it does to move a light one. Those guys must look great at the beach, though... And as you keep getting told, John, weight does not necessarily imply strength. AFA's O-Line should show you the fallacy of that thinking. Oh, and don't forget technique. =Bob
