Also, Scout has a great team of football scouts in Brandon Huffman, Greg Biggins and Jake Worthen. They also have Josh Gershon covering the west coast in basketball. They are quickly becoming better than Rivals in my eyes.

Snow, Daniels, Gershon...
Then with Sommer and Nieves handling SDSU. That would be well worth it.

So what is going on with Edward? I just assumed he was on vacation or something. He got demoted to cover a Pac 12 team.

He's a basketball guy though. I'm not paying another site for basketball coverage.

I read some recent stuff from Sommer, it was football.
Acually he was at the proday for the aztecs IIRC.

Right now I'm thinking about dumping both Rivals and Scout and riding it out until 247 gets an SDSU site. They've already blown by Rivals on west coast recruiting and are fast approaching Scout. Once they get a team site they'll be the clear #1 IMHO.

Scott Sommer has become huge in the basketball recruiting scene in just the past six months due to the endless hard work he's put in. He possesses tremendous knowledge regarding both SDSU and west coast basketball. I can't think of any candidates for 24/7 whose work I'd rather read.

The sport that really drives those sites? There are a ton of west coast guys/gals they could hire to run the SDSU site.

You know this based on what? He has pretty much zero credibility as far as football is concerned. EL and AG at least covered the football team for the DA. I haven't been able to find one piece he's done on football yet. If you can find one, please point it out to me.

He's a Bengals fan that must be pretty rough till this year... also even if he doesn't cover sdsu football a lot, the west coast guys like Brandon Huffman always have notes on prospects SDSU is going after.

I was going to post this, but it looks like insider beat me to it. Scott Sommer has been working really hard on the recruiting circuit. I have also heard that Edward Lewis is not coming back to Rivals. I was extremely disappointed in Rivals' ratings of our recruits this year. It was a half-assed effort to put it bluntly. With this new guy for Scout, if Edward leaves Rivals, so will I, for Scout probably.

I'm paying for a guy to cover football, not to get a national guy's "notes." I can sign up for 247Sports and get that from Adam Gorney. I don't see the incentive to jump from Rivals to Scout yet. Augustin Gonzales at least has football experience.
