Mark is a homer and doesn't know what he is talking about. Drew Gordon told players on our team DURING A GAME, "New Mexico sucks, I wish I never came here, I should've come to SDSU." Based on that information and how close he is with his brother, why would he recommend his brother make the same mistake as he did? His Winston Shepard posts bugged the hell out of me at the time, especially when I had to keep my mouth shut about what I knew about his recruitment, and now this $#!+ is bugging me too. The Gordon family isn't going to tell New Mexico fans and bloggers that New Mexico sucks and we aren't gonna go there. No recruits really do that, especially when they have a brother who just finished up there. LoL. Did they talk about the stock market too? Some of you are so put of touch with reality it's hilarious. You really give the older Aztec fans (knowledgable) a bad name. When did Drew say this? Per game? (hustling back in transition) Drew- "hey Jamall, I hate New Mexico, I wish I would have came here! Thanks! I love this place! LONG!! GET THAT HARDEMAN!, hey Shelton, San Diego St is where I should have come! FOUL? WHat do you mean I fouled him!" Thames, love you bro!" What's even more funny is I really think some of you guys believe the stuff you make up!Right back at you slick.

"He told me himself and his voice raised when he started talking about UNM.".......
Any chance Gordon's voice raised because he realized he was standing face to face with the type of person whom judges and reports on the voice inflection of 17-18 year olds recruits? I'm uncomfortable and am hopefully many, many, many hundreds of miles clear of your location.
You're either the most die-hard emotionally stable fan I've come across, or we just read the opening treatment to "Lifetime Presents: Stalked, the Aaron Gordon story"....

He was at his house and I was at mine. Hundereds of miles away but not like you portray. But good attempt at falsifying another story.

What's this thread about?

Mark coming on here and saying that they are in his final 3 and have a chance is no different than many of the posters on here thinking we have a chance with the Hamilton brothers or are a legitimate Final Four team. Mark brings a UNM perspective which many on here look to jump all over just because it’s not about the Aztecs. He’s been correct and he’s been wrong but he’s just sharing the information that the UNM fans are hearing. What’s more ridiculous than Mark saying they have a solid chance at landing Gordon is this thread thinking the Aztecs have any chance. Some of us on here need to come back to reality.

I absolutely poste that about WS. I also came on here and told you prior to him signing that the tables flipped and it no longer looked good for UNM. There was a time when WS was on the line and days away from commiting. But I don't expect any of you to believe that because many of you have no idea how recruiting works. You think it's black and white. Things always change and things are always fluid. As for Aaron Gordon. I've already said. I don't know where he's going and neither does he. I do know one thing. I've spoken to more people connected to AG than all of you combined and all of them are consistant in what the tell me. He's might end up going to Udub. They have been the favorite (from the outside) for a while. No doubt. But if you don't think UNM threw a major wrench into his recruitment then your clueless. He told me himself and his voice raised when he started talking about UNM. Does that mean they are higher on his list than Udub? I have no idea. Only Aaron knows that. But what I do know is UNM jumped up A LOT after his visit to UNM when everyone started chanting his name numerous times. Standing ovations for him during Drews speech. Drew flat out told the crowd that he's puttin the pressure on Aaron in front of 15k fans. I will be a major coup if we get him no doubt. But to totally disregard UNM is laughable. Just read his moms posts. Funny but if the shoe was on the other foot everyone on this site would be calling for national championships. Wait, your already doing that... Come on mark. I love you, but saying "winston shepard will never play in the big west". Then using recruiting is "fluid" as an excuse is weak. I can get or understand reruiting is fluid when top teams are shuffeled, ect. But you spoke in definite terms saying "winston shep would never play in he big west", the funny thing is, you never even believed that, you knew the aztecs had a shot at him. You were trying to talk $#!+ about the aztecs move to big west, and in doing so you left credibility at the door on aztemesa, not that you care. Anyways, I still appreiate your info, but am aware of lobos slant.

anybody with an internet connection proclaims to be a recruiting guru these days, its pretty funny yet quite sad at the same time. And anytime you call out someone for being FOS they get all butt hurt and defensive. If young Gordan's attitude is half as bad as his big bro then keep him the hell away from my program and let him go to NM or UW

There are no true insiders getting mixed up in public message boards. This is all no more than supposition. It's entertaining and makes for cool debate/conversation, but supposition nonetheless. I put together a recruitng blog because I happen to enjoy the process. The kids I've dealt with have been cool, but I certainly don't claim to have any insight as to their leanings. If I ever claim expert status or to have "inside" info, please remind me to punch myself in the face...

Now ask yourself, what would make him change his mind is the the question. Anyways. Good luck. Im done posting here. See you guys next year!

What exactly are you implying with that last comment? Maybe the question should be whether you should still hold those "people" in such high regard. You lost your credibility dude, adios.

If the kid does not want to be Aztec then I say good luck to him. I really like supporting the team with players who want to be here and who are proud to be Aztecs. I hate the idea of kissing some 17 year old's arse to come here. Recruit him and sell him on the program and let me make his choice. Speculate all you want.

What makes it worse is that he is the moderator of the lobolair. We've lost out on recruits in the past - Demetrius Morant to UNLV, DeAndre Daniels to UConn, Kevin Young to Kansas, Olu to Oregon and there were some people on the board who came out and insinuated that there was some funny business behind the scenes. It's so freakin' smalltime. You win some, you lose some in recruiting. Man up.

The way I see it is that if Mark (or anyone else for that matter) wants to come on here and give his point of view, that's fine and he is welcome. As long as he resists slamming our team, our program, our players. Lobo fans are the worst when it comes to being able to see any other fans' perspective; Mark and others like him are welcome to stay away forever as far as I'm concerned. jmo

There was a funny letter to the editor in today's sports section that was like "Wow that Aaron Gordon kids is really good, Fisher really needs to offer him a scholorship" like he was a some 'hidden gem' that no one knew about and Fisher needed to swoop in sign him.

This dude lost all credibility on the Shephard call. As Dirtball points out, you can't use a word like "never" only to be proven wrong, then worm your way out of it with the recruiting is "fluid" argument.
