Call me greedy, but I still want Pelle AND January. I'm leaving it up to Fish & Staff to figure out how this can be done.....

It's hard to believe our recruiting classes used to contain 2-to-3-star recruits with Jamaal Franklin, Rahon, Tapley, etc. Now we are signing 4-star recruits which has never happened for us - EVER IN ANY SPORT!!! This season has been fantastic as a fan...yet I cannot wait to see what Fisher & Co can do with a "higher" crop of talent.

I've been pretty outspoken on wanting Pelle, but after looking around at clips of January, I think im sold. Haven't seen this one posted before here and its pretty new. I realize their highlight films for a reason, but I really like the diversity of shots/dunks/steals/blocks. Im impressed.

The majority of those highlights were from the TP Holiday Classic. I saw him play a few games there and he was looking like the best player in the entire tournament at times. Earlier highlight videos showed a raw athlete with skills that needed polishing, but when I saw him this year, as that video confirms, his all around game is very nice. I was most impressed with his defense and his mid-range game. He has a very soft, consistent 15-18 foot jumper that is very hard to guard. He is great at going 2-3 dribbles either way and pulling up and splashing a jumper right over his defender with ease. Very rare at this stage in a kid's career these days.
Kid is like a hybrid of Jamaal Franklin, Lorrenzo Wade, and Mohammed Abukar. He is a stud and some say a "sure pro" - maybe even future lottery pick.

I doubt he is better than Shepard, but I also think they are very different players. Shep is going to be the most versatile guy we have on the team. I have only seen Shepard play a couple games on ESPN and he is not even their #1 option, yet he still puts up numbers for Findlay. And to be honest, its hard to tell with that team because there is so much talent and they score so much off of the fast break. I have not seen enough of his shooting to say he will be an offensive force for us as a freshman. He will probably get 4+ assists per game from the wing though, which will be incredible in itself. Oh, and he absolutely shut down Shabazz Muhammed on a nationaly televised game. Shep is a beast.
Anthony January is a true small forward in every sense. In college he will be able to defend multiple positions, but his skill set screams small forward. He is 6'8" with above average ball skills and an above average jump shot. Very quick defender, solid shot blocker and a great rebounder. He is thicker than Winston, already has a more developed body. He really is underrated and underappreciated. Seriously. But the same can be said for Winston Shepard.... if we had both, with Jamaal and Polee??? Simply unfair.

Basketball wise AJ & WS are pretty evenly matched IMO. It's off the court which makes Winston so much more highly regarded. If I'm Fish I'm not offering AJ until he gets a year of prep school under his belt & then we can reevaluate where we/Anthony are at.

He looks like an athletic Mark Aguirre...very fluid shooter (slow but that shouldn't matter at the college level). I REALLY like his style!

My favorite thing about those clips is every time he makes a play he gets back on defense. He doesn't celebrate or throw his hands up in the air, he just gets back to work.

Rivals has a check mark next to offer for San Diego State. What's the deal? Have we offered?
