currently is it dead time for official signing, (until April), so a recruit could verbal but would it be non - binding for both the school and the recruit. ( yes-we all know schools that do not stop recruiting until it becomes binding- even if a recruit verbals). Can only hope Shepard and the coaching staff have established a "solid relationship " as to what he may do and when and if the staff needs to have a plan J . Believe he visited UNM during their "Midnight madness" for their first practice of this year, do not know if has scheduled other visits.,plus it is not too far to drop in to UNLV for an un -official. Doubt he is going to decide his future on a couple games coming up.

I would think at this point if Shepard gave a verbal commitment, we'd be fine. He already said he was going to wait for the Spring so if he commits to SDSU, then he would be a very solid verbal since if he was on the fence, there is no urgency to commit.

From the tone of this blurb from EL my gut tells me if WS goes on anymore trips we're screwed. I wouldn't be surprised if Fish & staff haven't given WS some kinda timeline as far as when we need an answer. As long as we end up with Shepard or January I'll be happy.

Posts like these are my favorite! They're awesome. Some mysterious person comes onto the board to confirm a rumor. My only question is who is Mark? Is the "M" actually an upside down "W"? Does the "Ark" actually mean "Arc"? The meaning is clear W is for Winston & Arc is referring to the Arc on SDSU's campus Mark you'll notice has 25 posts which is exactly in between Shepard's Findley prep #15 and his twitter #35. There can be only one conclusion Mark IS Winston Shepard. He's confirming his commitment to SDSU because he was impressed by the Arc. Welcome to the Mesa, Winston errr Mark!

Mark I think it's time you start ignoring Rebels recruiting "sources", I maybe wrong but I believe you heard from a rebel fan who posted on their site that the big west move turned off Shepard and Pelle and took it as your own "source" you probably hoped it was right and was thinking this would help UNM big time. How many times has a UNLV recruit been ready to commit and never commit? I remember when they all said polee was as good as theirs, Willms was theirs, Carter was theirs, and Allen was theirs. I would be careful who you trust as a source going forward. I understand the bitterness in a conference member leaving, but try to keep reality in perspective.

This was actually pretty funny. I refuse to comment on WS until something is final. I have been heart-broken too many times on recruiting trails.

I just give credit where credit it do. Everything up to last weekend pointed in UNM's favor. Everything from last weekend on points in your favor. I dont run from things I say. Its recruiting and if you haven't followed it very long means its very fluid. Things can change hourly, daily, weekly, or monthly. This one has taken a change and its worth noting. Since we both are recruiting him. If you know me then you know my sources dont come from talking to internet fans. I actually talk to recruits (like Winston several times) and other coaches who are involved at different levels. Btw, that was a neat play on letters from my name. Did you do that all by yourself?

Mark, thank you for sharing. Sincerely wasn't addressing you personally just posts like yours generically. I'm sure you get them on your board too. Posts from people who seem to have much deeper connections to the situation than myself who post these cryptic posts that leave me saying "Who are you? And please give more details on what you know."

Nice work, gents.

Yes, we have some backups should Shepard chose you guys over UNM. A guy whos hearing from UofA, ASU, Pitt, etc. But make no mistake. Shepard is our priority recruit.

According to Tony Bland's Twitter he stayed in Vegas. Maybe he is paying WS another visit.

Hmmm, the vibe I get from this board and the few recruiting guys I follow on Twitter is that Shepard is leaning towards SDSU but as coolethan points out, if he takes another visit that probably isn't a great sign. Just as Mark points out that he was leaning NM (since that was his only visit) once he came to SDSU and Bland has been recruiting him hard and he eyes started looking in our direction, there is nothing to say that can't happen again.
