We'll take him with open arms. Bring your boy Jordan Bell with you. Add some Hamilton brothers & we'll be the dominate program on the west coast.

He said awhile back that his mom wants him to take a lot of visits so he won't be committing this season. He said he might commit early in his senior year in order to bond with his future teammates, but he could very well be a late commitment.

what is the deal with Stephen Domingo? he has sdsu on all his top 5s Kid's been dealing with injuries. I don't think he's really considering us. UA, Cal & UW appear to be the favorites at this point. I'd love to nab him, an absolutely "pure" shooter.

That's funny ... rereading it, I can hear his voice. Well done

insider.espn.go.com/college-sports/recruiting/basketball/mens/story/_/id/7520286/nike-extravaganza-recapIts an ESPN insider article talks about some of the standout players. Prince being one of them says he is going to be an "elite" defender at the next level, sounds like a Fish kinda guy. Browsing around on the MWC board and found this article by Scott Somers(sp?) from Coast 2 Coast and he had this qoute from Roschon about what attracts him to a school “ I want to go to school that says if you play defense you can do anything on offense. Defense is the main point.”

That ESPN Article also mentions Bell and the Hamilton Bros and Jamal Aytes (who claims to have an offer from SDSU). So nice to see SDSU in the mix for all these top west coast players.

I would be surprised if we are still recruiting Jamal Aytes... saw him play a number of times while he was at Foothills, not very athletic, not a great jumper, etc. Very similar to Alec Williams, but Id say Williams has a MUCH better jumper, while Jamal is probably a better rebounder.
Since he left SD to play in the OC, I have not seen him so who knows, he may be improving a lot. Just seems like we are in the mix for much more highly regarded talent in 2013.

I'm sure you are correct and based on the players we are in the mix for, he isn't quite to that level. I include him more to point out there are quite a number of guys in that article that are considering SDSU.

Didn't someone say the big west move hurt his interest in us? RT Inna Lazarev@InnaLazarev Long Beach Poly (Calif.) 2013 small forward Roschon Prince has long list of schools in the mix. His current favorite is San Diego State If you look beyond the Big West vs. Mtn West immediate competition we have an attractive proposition that should be better - especially for CA recruits. 1. ESPN contract + 4 Big East games means we will get to watch great out of conference games early on. Right now we do not get that being on "The Mtn". 2. We add another 8 out of conference games than our current schedule. Some of those will include Mtn West teams I would think, and potentially other prominent schools now that our travel budget should increase (since many Big West games will be via bus.) 3. For local recruits, the parents can drive to many of these conference games and if you visualize this from a low income perspective its very appealing. See local games in person, watch the others on ESPN. Nice! 4. With BYU and now SDSU leaving, the Mtn West loses its strongest athletic institutions. UNLV may be leaving too - though I am not as knowledgable with their plans (hope they come to the Big West with us!) 5. As the Mtn West weakens, the Big West is slowly getting stronger. Like UNLV in the 90's and Gonzaga in the '00's we are now the small conference basketball powerhouse of the West Coast. We will probably attend preseason NIT-type of tournaments, get stronger opponents than ever, get more TV time, and hopefuly contend for the next decade+.

Big West may have small gyms but many of them are very close for NBA scouts to take a look at possible recruits- With all the CA / NBA teams and when visiting GM's teams come out to CA . How many teams in the Merger West Conference have an NBA team near their campus.NBA scouts ,prefer a quick hour ride to view a player then a 3 to 4 hour ride into the snow

Aytes doesn't hold an offer from SDSU, he claimed a couple offers to me but didn't report it because none of them seemed true. Aytes looks much better than he did at Foothills but still needs to work on his conditioning, don't think he is SDSU caliber but still a work in progress. Twitter: scottsommer41
