Either Aztec sports fans are apathetic or not active in social networking. Or maybe these tools are not being promoted properly to drive more engagement.

What do you win if you have more Facebook's and/or Twitters than say a school like BYU? Is there a trophy for this? If we beat the Borg do we get a one week vacation in Provostan? Or, more likely if we aren't as Tweety as the Borg we get two weeks in Provostan?

I got a twitter account during the whole conference brouhaha because it is a cool way to get breaking info you want all in one place. I Aztec'd it up and followed anything Aztec I could find. You don't win anything, but it is an easy and basically free way for the program to disseminate information, and if you reply to someone as an individual it is basically advertising the aztecs.

This is where the marketing dept. should be at, one person can send out information to tons of people and they could likely put a widget on goaztecs and here that would shoot that information out like ticket deals and stories, etc.

Especially if you are trying to reach the younger demographic, however the numbers on Facebook are staggering. Some of the fastest growing segments are those over 40.
