It's finally here. I've been hanging out on your board for a while now....and this is the year.
I'm calling it...the Aztecs are the "surprise team of the MWC for 2010".
Aztecs go bowling this year, and will be the #5 team at worst, possibly #4.
This is the beginning of the rise of the Aztecs. You've got one of the best coaching staffs, and you've got an assasin at QB...2nd year of Hoke's recruits...it is only going to get better.
Gonna be a fun year.

I think Todd Christensen nailed it tonight on the Mtn, when he said it will come down to how the Aztecs finish the OOC games. If we end 1 -3, then no surprises, but if the Aztecs end this stretch 3 - 1, then watch out when entering conference play.
Hoke feels that the season will not be a success unless the Aztecs win the conference. Not likely this year, but an 8 and 4 season is a distinct possibility IMO.

I hope Borg is right. I'm expecting a 7-5 season, would do cartwheels over an 8-4 season and would possibly try not to hurt myself over a 6-6 season. Within the MWC, TCU, Utah and BYU have a solid grip on the upper tier, but the rest of the conference games, including AFA here are reasonably winnable as seen through these rose colored glasses from Costco.

To draw comparisons between SDSU and Ball ST. Hoke went 4-8 in his first season at both schools. In his second season at Ball St. he went 2-9.
I am still in the belief that a 6-6 season this year is possible and likely.

6-6 (*maybe* 7-5) this year... Aztecs become the "surprise team" in 2011 when they go 8-4. Just my personal crystal ball talkin'.
