Truthfully, I think this is a pretty fair appraisal. Pretty objective and not really sarcastic at all. Look, this year's freshmen were seven years old the last time SDSU had a winning season. When you are in that situation you don't deserve a pile of accolades.

Is this the only piece they've had after a week of camp? Seems like we should be bitchin' about their coverage not the UT. They must be on the way out.

Yeah, usually NCT is on it for the Aztecs but not this year.
Paris' articles are usually trash but this one wasn't bad.

The NCT is struggling economically and just can not cover the Aztecs like we think they should. They would like to, but just can't. I had an email exchange wth Paris a year or so ago and that is what it boils down to.

I understand they are in trouble, but, isn't their bread and butter (or at least should be) covering local sports like highschool and college? All these newspapers and magazines that are going under when all they are doing is reprinting 15 hour old AP and wire articles is sort of like a duh! They couldn't send a guy to the Aztec media day on campus and generate 3 or 4 stories?

Looks like we might only get one or two articles a week out of them.

I couldn't agree more - more coverage of local sports and local events may at least keep readership from dropping. They should have journalism internships with local high schools, JCs (Palomar, Mira Costa, Miramar?) and Colleges (SDSU, USD & CSUSM at a min) to increase content. NC High Schools still get adequate coverage but JC coverage, for example, is mostly just scores, if that. That wasn't they the way it was in the past.

They even had one on UCLA but nothing on the Aztecs. Last year they did have pretty good coverage of North County High Schools, but very poor Aztec coverage. They are hurting.

Let's face it, the newspapers that once were based upon investigative reporting, journalism, a proud profession are now littered with bias reporting. I canceled the UT because they no longer a newspaper worthy of my sponsorship but a liberal blather of no value. They forgot their market, their customers and they deserve to go out of business. Newspapers have and will continue to disappear from the landscape. Who cares? Next is the MSM which does not report but reads democratic press releases. A profession that we held up in our youth, we now won't waste our time looking at.

And Fox is making tons of money reading republican ones, so i guess it depends whose talking points you read and who their audience is (particularly if they are scarred of nearly any group of people)
