Remember a few months back they were auditioning students for the role of a "character" mascot to go along with the Aztec Warrior?
Any updates (pics, etc)?

BTW, can't say I've seen much Star Trek in my life...please tell me the scalp is what the Borg looks like. Then it's a no brainer done deal.

What's bad@ss is what this warrior does with his prize next...
Here's an idea for the "Character" mascot and others of the cheer leading squad in a means to create excitement among the student body.
Arrange an on campus rally on Friday, September 3rd outside the book store. Have Coach Hoke and a couple other coaches participate and 'fire-up' the students for 15 minutes. Members from the marching band, cheerleaders, mascots can help to assemble/organize the students and faculty. Anyway you get the picture. After the rally, have a dozen or so of the 'Stars' of the team offer autographs to students, alumni, and others. The book store can have football memorabilia readily available for sale. Autographs for students are $2.50 and $10.00 for everyone else. All proceeds go to the athletic programs. (If this is acceptable with NCAA regs, of coarse). Something like this may also energize the players, so they come out with a winning/finishing attitude on Saturday. I know I would be there....

Ask yourself, "Which Aztec Warrior would you want going into battle?"
Aztec Ambassador = Diplomacy
Aztec Warrior = Kicking @ss = Football
I'd want a mascot that instills fear into our opponents not laughter.
Get the idea?

A "badass" mascot like that would be awesome and would be a real attraction to put butts in the seats at the "Q". The current mascot lools like more like a wimp than a warrior.
