Jan 14th you'll be shocked the squad we have this year...there is a reason why there is so much hype around UNLV right now. Jan. 14th. enough said.

The MWC with UNLV and New Mexico will be on par with the Big West in basketball. according to what? Fresno St. will take place of TCU's RPI UNR's SOS is on par with SDSU and RPI is a tad lower. Boise St. and Air Force is only hurting MWC RPI right now... MWC RPI should be able to stay TOP 10. Big West has a few good teams, but those bottom feeders kill that conference. Sorry, just being a realist. 3 bid league between 2 conferences --- hip hip huzzah!

Except you fruits are running around running your gums about how great it'd be if you actually beat Daddy. Aztecs aren't even showering the rest of the week for when you taste that sack

I don't usually like to bring things like this up, but if the Aztecs were to land Johnson and Pelle, and feasibly are still in the mix for Shepherd...is it possible we don't see Alec Williams or LaBradford next season? Yes and I think LBF is the most likely to go. Please.

Pelle would fit in perfect at the sdsu better know as the gateway to Tijuana" Very ghetto and not to smart. Just like Billy White = total thug. Vegas couldn't wait to see him leave. Only need two stars recruits to compete in big west though so you guys should be fine. Funny how someone ripping on someone else's intelligence uses "to" instead of "too" in their diatribe. Must be that UNLV education!!

Exactly, wait until the recruits realize that the MWC ain't the MWC it used to be. They can spin and use statistics all they want, but without SDSU, Utah, BYU, TCU, and Boise.....the conference is a shadow of its former self. Football wise definitely. Wait I'm a Rebel and what is football? (I went to tailgates and left before the game..) Anyways basketball will take a minor hit with SDSU, TCU and Boise gone. Only team worthy of much is SDSU. Wish MWC would allow the BBall to stay... but we do have UNR coming in. They will be a top 4-5 MWC basketball team next year. If SDSU can somehow land Pelle and Shepard that'd add to all the excitement happening with the Rebels right now. Fairly good post, my friend. Like I said Earlier, I have a buddy of mine who lives in LV and is a die hard Rebel fan, and is really excited about the recent acquisition of Birch. And for good reason. I have nothing but respect for not only what your sqaud has done in the past(4 Final 4's, a National championship ect..) Not to mention what your current coaching staff with Rice and co. has done recently since taking over. Especially with the recruiting process. Solid job, imo. However, with that said, Here's to hoping Fisher and co. can hope to match that with the potential (hopefully) pick up of Pelle in the near future. Would love to continue to battle it out with the Rebs for at least 1 more season for MWC supremacy. GO AZTECS!

I don't get it?!?!?! I understand that Fisher is doing the best he can and he's doing a great job, but how does UNLV get such great recruits right now? Katin Reinhardt a 4* recruit has already committed, now Birch 5*, and they "supposedly" are in the mix to get Bennett and Muhammad 5* recruits. This is the same UNLV team we have beaten for the past few years. The same UNLV that hasn't done much and have a rookie coach. I would think that our sweet 16 run last year would have opened more doors for 5* recruits than they would. Um, hmm. Suddenly there seems to be a suspicious fragrance wafting from the UNLV basketball program. One that is not unfamiliar...

Don't assume they're cheating just because they're getting good players.

Don't assume they're cheating just because they're getting good players. Just saying...I think 858sportfan had a point. We were the ones who took our program to new heights just months ago, while UNLV has been spinning its wheels for years. Now a new coach takes over their team and suddenly a constellation of five-star kids is lining up to join him? Where was that quality of recruit before now? And why aren't any of them sitting courtside at Viejas? Either Rice was college basketball's best-kept secret as a recruiter, or something else has suddenly changed at UNLV. And remember, this is a program with a history.
