WTF Last year with Hillman, this year Deonte Williams doesn't make it in because someone screwed up in their academics/admission.

These JC guys continue to be a problem. Whatever happened to the days when we had a steady stream of JC transfers plugging the holes. Even in the late Tollner years they were getting in and contributing.

Isn't it time to get this crap straightened out in the admissions dept. or whatever dept.? This is just absurd and very Mickey Mouse. A complete joke. Wonder what Sterk is doing to solve this important problem.

Wonder what Sterk is doing to solve this important problem. I don't know, it's not clear from Hoke's comment about summer school whether the problem is at SDSU or somewhere else. Any idea where he went to summer school?

Wonder what Sterk is doing to solve this important problem. I have a feeling it's on the other side. After someone got their ass chewed out for that Hillman fiasco I highly doubt we're seeing a "Hillman II" episode.

#34 J.J. Whitaker is a DB and is injured and on crutches. #34 Ezell Ruffin is now a running back.
Ruffin got a lot of reps at running back during Monday's practice. He also caught passes in passing drills (all eligible receivers catch passes in passing drills).
I'm thankful to the Daily Aztec for clearing up the number situation.
It's a shame about Williams.

This brings up a random question I had about duplicate numbers. I know college teams are allowed to have them (this is an example as well as Lindley, Stavovich both #14). My question to any who knows, is this allowed as long as both players are not on the field at the same time? Or would they be both allowed? I heard Petros papadakis talk about getting confused covering a game and having duplicate numbers but never heard him explain it. I hope they clear up the situation on Williams. It would really piss me off if that was my son that this was happening to.

I hope they clear up the situation on Williams. It would really piss me off if that was my son that this was happening to. I don't think his circumstances are the same as Ronnie Hillman's. Word is Hoke & Co. were pissed at the admissions office from the get go on the Hillman thing. Apparently that isn't the case with Williams.

Okay that's good to know that another fiasco like what happened to Ronnie won't happen again. Let's hope not. Whatever it is that has happened to Deonte, let's hope it is cleared up.

We really don't know the whole issue here, and, the office is there to assure compliance so that we don't run into major problems down the road, the way I understand the issue last year is a red flag was raised as the SAT showed massive improvement between tests (like a couple hundred poings), would it be better if it was later found that it was an illegitimate test and SDSU should have done something, who is the point guard (d. rose?) that this happened with?

Just saw this in the UT article in another thread: Sierra College transfer Deonte Williams won’t play at SDSU this fall because of a paperwork snafu by the junior college. He may enroll in January instead. Hoke said neither Williams nor SDSU were responsible for his not being able to enroll this fall.
