Not sure if it was mentioned yet, but I read in the UT that Mike Goff had come on as an unpaid assistant to the team. I love to see guys like this working with the O-Line...now can we get Kyle Turley too?

NFL caliber coaching on the O-line, from an Ex-Charger. The last time we had that was with Ed White.
And it's free, no charge.

For the rules experts - how many total coaches can you have, because I remember USC had too many when they had a kicking 'consultant'

Class act Mike Goff is! I always like him when he played for my Chargers.

This can only be a good thing, unless monty's worry is true. I trust that Hoke knows what's up.
Surprising to me that he's doing this for free since he is an Iowa Hawkeye and they are a top 10 team this year (preseason at least). You would think that he would want to be involved with that.

He opened a lot of running lanes for LT. Our O-line can use his smarts. Oldie Out

I'm sure we're within compliance because we don't have a ton of coaches, but was wondering if we can add more, do grad assistants count towards that, do we have grad assistants, etc.

I wonder who's idea this was. Funk, Borges, Hoke? It seems improbable that he would just come up and ask to work with them.

He probably still lives in the area and SDSU is a shorter commute than Iowa. Maybe he's thinking about getting into coaching and this is a good way to try it out without the committment of a contract.
Isn't John Robinson a volunteer coordinator for a north county high school team? Some guys love the sport and just want to be involved.

That's awesome. Two of my favorite things (Chargers & Aztecs) coming together. Now if only we could get Jessica Alba naked and covered in chocolate syrup in the mix somewhere I'd be in heaven.

Yes, Robinson is the DC at San Marcos HS.
