We also have a JC on the roster who came in as a DE @ 255lbs. The name is Leaupepe. Don't know if he redshirted or not but was wondering if getting this guy up to 275-280 and moving him inside is possible.

He is a DE and just a rotation guy from what I have seen. Not a game changer. Very nice guy btw.

The odds of getting a quality JC guy at this point are probably pretty slim. I would think that most, if not all, of the Dec/mid year guys are gone.

We are late in the process of reccruiting JC guys now but....who knows. Our recruiting seems to be stuck in neutral.

We are late in the process of reccruiting JC guys now but....who knows. Our recruiting seems to be stuck in neutral. I probably got too caught up in the significance of joining the Big East. I'd hoped that we'd finally break through the glass ceiling that has forever plagued SDSU. We just can't seem to pick up those premium players that make huge impacts. I'd hoped that joining the Big East would knock down the last "argument" against us. Might still happen, but so far the silence and inactivity has been daunting.

We're still a year and a half from playing in the conference. It's giong to take some time.

Yeh cause we didn't just have a couple commitments in the past 2 weeks as important as kickers are, I think he's referencing positions other than that. I think you know that as well. I too am a bit confused with the lack of action in the recruiting game. I would have hoped we'd have a near full allotment of guys going down the stretch.

McMorrow is a huge get despite being a kicker, we also got Kazee's brother which was huge as well. Queen also committed Dec. 5th so I'm not sure where that falls on the timeline.

We're about where we were last year at this time. There is always a slow period from now until January...

would think a lot of the guys are watching the Bowl games and the teams they are debating on before making a decision. Even though we lost last Saturday does help playing on ESPN

I---and probably many on this board---have gotten so frustrated with "wait until next year" or "now we have THE coach" etc. Your comment is true and prudent. I'm wishing for "miracles", which is not the wisest direction to take.

I agree, those are very good recruits. And we're not done. I just can't help but compare our recruiting position versus other schools which I feel are at our "level". Year after year, and this one incluced, we are consistently in the lower half of the 120 D1 programs. That's disappointing, since I feel we should easily be in the top 50 every year. Especially since the entire country seems to feel we're in the "hotbed" of high school players. You'd think that without trying hard,we'd accidentally end up in the top 75. Hell, Chuck Long, with his pitiful coaching ability--and ZERO history of winning anything--- got us into the 60's (I think). I'm venting, sorry.

By the time this class is done it will likely be in the 50's. A lot of the players we have verballed haven't been rated yet but judging by their other offers, they'll have some stars next to their names. Relax. There's a long way to go until signing day.
