And will be more exciting than any Aztec team we have seen in 10 years.

The Aztecs will certainly score more points than last season.

...be better than their suppose to be.
Now, for the old Aztecs:
This year, the former Aztec players will have a much larger presence.
"Legacy" is the term you will hear a lot out of our group...we want the current players to think of the legacy they are creating, the former players to appreciate the legacy they left behind...and future Aztecs locally and nationally to dream of the legacy they could contribute to a proud program.

. . . pull off one big upset.
(I won't predict which game nor will I guarantee we won't also lose at least one game we have no business losing, but there will be one week during which this board will be a very happy place.)

I agree ...... pull off one big upset, and that will be the difference to get into a bowl game.

Meet expectations. They will not lose a game they are supposed to win.

Go 7-5 with a couple of tough, close losses. A bowl game and great hopes for next year and a program on the rise.

Meet expectations. They will not lose a game they are supposed to win. Actually, so doing wouldn't be all that novel. Checking my trusty Phil Steele's, if you go by the Vegas line, we did so as recently as 2008 when we won only two games. That's because that year we were so awful that we were the underdog in all 10 games we lost. (Vegas didn't set a line for Cal Poly II, or course.) We also didn't lose a single game in 2007 that we were supposed to win. That's because we were again so awful that we were the underdog to all 11 of our DIA opponents that year. So until last year, when we lost as favorite to both Idaho and Wyoming, we hadn't lost as a Vegas favorite since 2006, when we lost to UTEP and SJSU. To put it another way, how's THIS for a statistic? Between the UNLV game in 2006 and Idaho last year, except for Idaho in 2008, we were the underdog in a whopping 25 consecutive games against DIA opponents.

The 2010 Aztecs will win more games than last year. I guarantee it!
What we don't know is how many more games will they win. I will be disappointed with 5 wins, more or less happy with 6 (perhaps the most likely finish), and close to a coronary with 7 or more.
Furthermore, the 2010 Aztecs will start to look like winners. More confidence and better overall play. Wouldn't be surprised to see one of the big four have to work very hard to get the W.
If the improvement I just outlined comes to pass I will expect, not just hope for, 7 or more wins in 2011.

have to be able to run. If we can't we're a .500 team, at best.
