No doubt of that. Still, does it occur to you that Waddell is the antithesis of Tony Bell? By that I mean Bell doesn't have a glitzy YouTube that somebody put together nor a junior season in which he averaged more than 20 yards per catch and scored 18 TDs. What he DOES have, however, is very impressive speed and experience playing against a very high level of competition. Apparently it's just me, but I therefore think Bell's potential is at least as high as Waddell's. Maybe higher.

To that point, one thing I like the staff has done is have all these camps and traveling camps, there are plenty of good players on bad teams, or bad leagues, or bad divisions, so pluck them out and see how they do with the other big boys of the area. It is hard to figure out how good say a running back or a linebacker or with passing now-a-days a receiver is on a bad team as surely most of the game is going through that player anyways, just as a good say outside backer with two studs in the middle and a killer in front of him might look better because he's getting protection that he won't get. Highlight tapes in general sell the sizzle, the steak is say a playoff entire game film or against a big boy school. I watched a ton of film in high school and saw and played against a number of guys that went into the pros, more that got d1 rides and some that were absurdly touted that didn't make it, a play here or there didn't show it, but how they played an entire game against good competition often showed that say Kyle Boeller was going to the NFL and a tight end that ended up at washington and had all the size and speed was not going to get a sniff.

In regards to the amount of scholarship offers Waddell received it should be taken into consideration he was our 1st verbal last year in the early summer. So that may have effected the amount of offers he received. With that being said some of the praise being heaped onto this young man is unwarranted just by one YouTube video. In 2-3 years we will know if he's an explosive playmaker or the next Mekell Wesley.

As to Wesley, the irony of you mentioning him is amazing since in watching the video of Waddell, it reminded me quite a bit of one I saw of Mekell however many years ago.
