www.youtube.com/watch?v=p0ya-dorWKgWaddell AKA "Hollywood" - This package is all glitzed up. Of note in the film, he jumps right over the top of Jamal Franklin, the 6'5 guard that Fish is chasing.

In Hoke's two years 45 of 48 recruits have made it on campus. Coach Hoke & staff seem to be really on top of the recruiting game. The foundation has been laid & the future looks bright.

I couldn't agree with you more! Give Hoke and company a winning season and a bowl game with state i can only imagian what they'll be able to recruit next year.

11.2 in the 100 isn't that fast, but 47.3 in the 400 is a pretty good time. Was this kid in the state meet for the 400? I don't remember seeing him, but that time is really good. I believe he would have placed with that time.

Here are Waddell's stats from last year: www.maxpreps.com/athletes/siMyN__Af06dqDTZSeVZ1Q/football-fall-09/stats-jay-waddell.htmIt sure appears as though he put up huge numbers in a few games against OOC competition and then didn't play during the second half of the regular season. Why not? Your guess is as good as mine. (Maybe somebody who lives out in that area can educate the rest of us.) Also, the TD he scored on the KO return in the CIF playoffs was said to have been against "Notre Dame." I'm assuming that would be Notre Dame-Riverside. Notre Dame-Riverside is not to be confused with Notre Dame-Sherman Oaks, where the likes of Notre Dame-South Bend's 2010 starting QB Dane Crist played their HS ball. Look, I'm not at all trying to disparage the young man in saying this but with due respect, some of you really need to be a bit more realistic in your expectations of him.

he will be great next year. Again with due respect, what are you basing that on? Just one video designed to place him in the best light? This article lists a bunch of schools which supposedly were also interested in him: www.vvdailypress.com/articles/signing-17123-couldn-day.htmlHowever, contrary to Everett Beed, I can't find anything which would confirm that Waddell received a scholarship offer from anybody but us. Although I'm not completely sold on the JYP standard that the only thing that matters is who else offered, I sure think it's among the most important factors to consider when assessing the potential of our recruits. Bottom line is I wonder how many of the comments above were based on nothing more than one admittedly impressive video and an ignoring of any other criterion which might be relevant. That's kinda like seeing a commercial about a new car model and immediately saying to oneself "Gee, self, that sure is a GREAT car, I think I'll go buy one!"

They're all crap shoots, the impressive thing is this staff is getting almost all their rolls getting these dudes into campus. We can talk about losing a handful of scholarships as being a problem, but we were losing equally or more that amount of guys not qualifying or quitting. I mean 93% and change of people signed the last two years should be there on monday, that is a hell of a base to work from.
