Her last line is thought provoking. "Inner pessimism and powerlessness: That is a dangerous combination." What do we do about it? Do we join the folks punching out and going to England, Canada, or other places? I don't think so for a lot of reasons. Lets just say we are still the best place on earth and there is hope that most of this Obama silliness can be reversed. You are responsible for our future and you can show your colors at the polls this November and again in 2012. Throw these Obama Bums out with the trash!

The Dem/Repub thing was right there, just not in the words we are used to seeing.

The paragraphs about "The Political Divide" and "Dependence Economics" are of particular interest.

I agree that this is still a pretty good country, despite the issues. But silliness is bipartisan, Win.

Long indeed, about 12,000 words! But, sadly, all too true. Ultimately, Obama and, I'm afraid, most politicians, are only part time do-gooders. In the long run . . . . if the run is long enough (see Rangel, Charlie and Cunningham, Duke) . . . it's all about money. In the Soviet Union, as in Nazi Germany, the people at the top take care of themselves first and, second, those in their clique. Those who run things these days convince themselves that (A) they know better than anyone else and (B) it is their sacred (I guess most of them would not actually use that word) duty to bring enlightenment to the masses. It's important to keep in mind that not everything these members of the ruling class stand for is bad . . . for instance, Michelle is quite right that American kids are too chubby . . . but regardless of the merit of their ideas, their assumption that it's government's job to impel the ignorant masses to change their ways is profoundly distasteful and bound to result in massive loss of individual freedom. And here we thought we had gotten rid of the aristocracy about the time of the American and French revolutions. Seems we have a new aristocracy, those who think of themselves as the best and the brightest but who excel only in their disregard for the ideas and goals of their fellow citizens. AzWm
