Dartmouth # 1, SDSU #21, The Golden Bears of California #25! Really good company....well, except the Borg are included in the top 29 teams as well thus tainting the list, but... The Fred Noonan School of Navigation.

But still not a "Good Academic fit" for the PAC 10.

But still not a "Good Academic fit" for the PAC 10. Must be nice to Berkley and Westwood and get to influence education policy for the state to the point of purposely hamstrining what already is at least the 4th best public school in the state and with the offering of full scale post-grads would be knocking on the door, and then out of the other side of the mouth saying they don't meet our profile. Denied the ability to compete on a level playground and the school is still beating up 2/3rds of the UCs and the bottom 1/3 academically of the Pac10

The message that I took away from the comment area is that many were incensed by their universities being ranked lower than SDSU! Apparently, no other ranked university raised so much ire. I am surprised that so many know so much about our university as to be irate by SDSU being ranked higher than their "prestigious" institution. Do those responses not surprise anyone else?

But still not a "Good Academic fit" for the PAC 10. That's just code for "no alumni chairing real corporations or holding significant elective office." Isn't Costco's founder an Alum?

I am happy to see that SDSU has made such strides and is getting great recognition for academics. However, all of this goes to hell in a hand basket if Assembly Man / Traitor Marty Block passes the legislation he is working through the state capital which will require SDSU to only admit local students. SDSU will become a JC once that piece of legislation is passed. Here is the bill: leginfo.ca.gov/cgi-bin/postquery?bill_number=ab_2401&sess=CUR&house=B&author=blockIf the bill passes, and it will if SDSU alums don't get after Marty Block a SDSU degree will be equivalent to an AA degree, basically worth nothing and you can be sure that it will affect SDSU athletics as well.

If you're in a position to hire engineers in this town as I have been for more than a few years now, this is not a surprise. If you want a young engineer that's ready to be productive, hire an SDSU grad.

SDSU should really do a better job of promoting it's notable alumni. The current CEO of Costco, Jim Sinegal went to SDSU. There is debate on whether or not he actually graduated from SDSU with a Bachelor's. Sol Price graduated from SDSU in 1934. Both were pioneers of the warehouse store retail model and Sinegal has been listed on Time Magazine's list of The 100 most influential people.

Actually, yes, Sol Price was. Unfortunately, I don't think he was an SDSU benefactor. He died quite some time ago. Sol started Price Club. The founder of Costco had worked there. He started Costco up in Washington. The companys later merged and Costco is the surviving company. Sol Price did not start Costco.

SDSU got no respect in the comment section. I noticed that as well. A bunch of haters. If SDSU keeps popping up on lists like this eventaully the public perception will change. It will take a long time to change our image.
