I like it. .448 with RISP and .480 with RISP w/ 2 outs is not too shabby at all.

Ludwick does strike out quite a bit, but he (and Tejada) are the major league caliber bats this Padres team needs. Hit him clean up with Tejada and Headley behind him.
Ludwick in RF Gwynn/Hariston in CF Venable/Denorfia in LF
I feel much better about the Padres making and advancing in the postseason.

Corey Kluber:
Kluber, 24, is 6-6 with a 3.45 ERA (47 earned runs, 122 2/3 innings) for Class AA San Antonio. He's appeared in 22 games, 21 of them starts. He had 136 strikeouts, leading the Texas League in strikeouts.
Not a bad prospect obviously, but I am thrilled getting Ludwick in here.

I really like this pickup for us! Now, I think we still need to go out and get a starting pitcher.

Don't hold your breath....the deadline has passed so any player has to go through waivers, and those types of guys would be claimed if they're not expensive. I don't see any SD taking on much additional payroll. And besides Haren and Oswalt, the rest of the SP market wasn't very solid. There was Lilly.......but SD didn't show an interest. I'm fine with the Padres pitching....I hope Ludwick helps the O enough.

We probably add a #4 or #5 in August, unless they plan on using Stauffer.

Welcome to the Pads Ryan Ludwick, nice clutch pinch hit after being down in the count!

Great slide as well. He made an impact right away, hopefully he keeps it up.
