Consider this your Official Dave L invitation: Coach Hoke and some former players will be joining us for the next AZTEC CLUB Happy Hour at McGregor's. Happy Hour goes from 5-7pm Thursday evening (7-29)...and Coach Hoke is scheduled to speak at 6pm. As stated last month...our goal is to do this on the last Thursday of every month unless another Aztec event is planned (like the Football Kick-Off next month). Our goal is to get new AZTEC CLUB members and season ticket holders. We want you all to come...and we really want/need you to bring prospective members and people who need to become season ticket holders. Here's probably your best chance to meet, hear and speak with Coach Hoke before the season starts. Join your fellow Aztecs...Meet some fellow Aztecs...and BRING SOME NEW PEOPLE. See you at McGregors Thursday! I'm sure there will be other guests you'd like to meet there as well.

Is there anything listed on GoAztecs.com about the Aztec Club or this event?

Ahh, finally we get to psychology behind you're fixation on Chuck Long. Dad lets you hang around naked, but he hates Chuck Long. Your love for Long sounds like a twisted Oedipal complex, sans mother. Mother Long, the cupcake maker?

Mom is a "Hawg" fan. She doesn't like OU OR Chuck Long. Actually, for all that read with an open mind. I have no fixation on Chuck Long... I have a fixation on treating human beings fairly. I have a fixation on giving human beings a fair chance...I have a fixation on honoring contracts (honesty). And I have a huge fixation on people piling on a man when he's down. Something that is done by people with low self images and done quite often on this board.

Is it just me, or does Coach Hoke increasing sound like Frank Caliendo's imitation of John Madden? Not Madden mind you, but Caliendo's imitation of Madden.

The strength program was scheduled to conclude with a 10pm session Thursday night. Hoke said the real standouts in the weightroom were Matamua, Kazee and Tauanuu, of whom he said he's totally changed his body around. Well, he said about the same thing about Kazee, too. I've heard elsewhere that Kazee is back at full speed after his injury. Not much more to share other than folks had a good time. For those of us who can't make it will someone find out how the strength testing went?

I saw him play for Cajon against my alma mater, La Quinta High, and he was absolutely terrific. But not very big. Looking forward to seeing his progress this season.

He also said that he's looking forward to seeing Dwayne Garrett and Adam Muema at running back, and that Ryne Clark is first off the bench if something happens to Lindley.
