After all the bickering and snide remarks, the fight never got done. It appears that Bob Arum (Pacman's promoter) tried to get the fight done using HBO's Ross Greenburg as a mediator to one of PBF's team members. After Arum's self-imposed deadline to get the contract signed when all sticking points (drug testing mainly) were agreed to, PBF did not sign the contract. To top that off, Leonard Ellerbe, one of Mayweather's advisors claimed that negotiations NEVER even took place. Ellerbe even stated that either Arum or Greenburg was lying. Greenburg issues a statement that negotiations INDEED took place. latimesblogs.latimes.com/sports_blog/2010/07/hbo-sports-president-discusses-mayweatherpacquiao-talks.htmlIt appears to me that PBF is just plain scared to fight Pacquiao. I put the entire blame of the fight not happening on PBF.

It will happen in 2011, I am sure of it. Floyd won't turn down this payday, I assure you.
In my opinion, he was just posturing and playing mind games, I don't feel he had any intention to fight again in 2010, at least not until Roger Mayweather's legal issues are clear.
Disappointed though. I wanted to see these two go at it in November. Mayweather is a jackass.

As disappointed as I am in Floyd's bullsh*t, I am as disappointed in Top Rank/Manny's choice of opponent in Margarito. Not a good matchup. Margarito leads with his head, but isn't very quick.....like a better version of Ricky Hatton. That's why Mosley was able to destroy him, but he had better success against a slower boxer in Cotto. Of course, I am convinced he had loaded wraps against Cotto in that fight. So I feel Manny will TKO Margarito by round 9. Top Rank had a poll on their site, and over 40% suggested Tim Bradley as Pacquaio's next opponent. What Top Rank could have done is advise Bradley and Devon Alexander that Manny would fight the winner of their fight, then I suspect Bradley-Alexander could get made faily quickly......say, in September. With Manny fighting the winner in early 2011. I'm more excited to see Bradley and Alexander finally get it on (assuming they do) than Pac Man-Margacheato.

The problem is though that this is more than likely manny's last fight. He wants to concentrate on his new job as congressman in the Philippines. Unless Floyd agrees to a 55-45 split next year....this fight isn't going to happen.

THe most recent estimates after PPV proceeds are around $40M-$50M per fighter, depending on what article you believe. Neither will turn down such a lucrative opportunity. I predict next summer....it goes down.

Manny's not going anywhere, he'll fight a couple times a year for the next few years, he's too good and makes too much money

With the latest mayweather rant... Who knows? Mayweather finally said something, not his dad or uncle, so maybe it'll finally go down this summer.
