Remember when the Aztecs could have hired Harbaugh and took Chuck Long instead? Wow, now working miracles with the Niners!

I wanted this guy for the Chargers back when he was at USD (before he moved to Stanford that year) instead they hired Norv. He also would have been great at SDSU, but would have probably been gone by now.

His post game behavior was crazy. He doesn't make many friends but he wins.

His post game behavior was crazy. He doesn't make many friends but he wins. The players love it though. I think he's more worried about them buying into him than he is the opposing coaches.

Yeah, well. We all wanted Skippy, Price, CSU's coach, Erickson, Tedford, Bowden et al. Only Erickson seems to be doing alright. Let's move forward.

Remember when the Aztecs could have hired Harbaugh and took Chuck Long instead? Wow, now working miracles with the Niners! Ya. I posted this same thing a year or 2 back, and was quickly reprimanded, that harbaugh had just gotten a DUI in SD and was un-hireable. And now you know the rest of the story. Paul Harvey

Harbaugh, is a very good coach. But having here would have been very short like maybe two, or three years. Then off to Stanford, or some other big time school, and we would be left holding the bag.
Rocky, is staying of course, and we will be getting better. Then, our staying power will be much longer. That is what we really need. No use crying about what shouda', coulda' it won't help.

Remember when the Aztecs could have hired Harbaugh and took Chuck Long instead? Wow, now working miracles with the Niners! On the contrary, I'm glad we didn't hire him. There's no doubt that he would have been successful here, but he would have come cheap. He wanted to come here after USD so the administration was in the drivers seat to pay him accordingly. Stanford was fortunate to sniff him out. Our administration would still be looking for that next Harbaugh after his departure, and again at a cheap salary. They wouldn't have learned their lesson. Those diamonds in the rough like Harbaugh at cheap salaries are like chasing rainbows. We've been there, done that for too many years. We're now getting long term success because we're shelling out more dough for the coach.

Understand all the points... and that Detroit coach was not too happy with his wild behavior at the end of the game. I just remember being surprised at the level of disdain (on this Board) for the guy during our coaching search at the time. And..just how good is Harbaugh? What he did at Stanford was pretty amazing, but what he is doing with the Niners in his first year is shocking. I mean turn around a disaster (Alex Smith) in one year??...and the team is playing lights out.

Schwartz overreacted, imo, but Harbaugh is kind of a tool From the view they've shown the most often it didn't look like much, but from a few others, Harbaugh totally punked him. Did Schwartz go too far? Perhaps, but good on him for standing up for himself.

I didn't realize that a firm handshake and pat on the back was violating the coaches MAN-CODE. I don't think there is any doubt that Harbaugh can be a tool... but I don't see what he did yesterday that was so wrong...

ESPN spent tons of time analyzing this, explaining why it was SO WRONG, this morning. Super funny.

Harbaugh is a very emotional man. His players play for him because of that. If you looked at the video, it is easy to see that he shook Schwarz' hand, patted him on the back and was in a hurry to get off of the field as it was being crowded by fans. A shake and pat on the back is fine by me. Anything else might be Gay. (Not that there is anything wrong with that.)
