I don't think so either. As another poster said a couple days ago, I think with their brutal 6-game stretch before they host us that they could get on a negative roll and just completely fall apart like CSU did last year. However, I also think it's good we're not being picked for fifth since we're still quite young and I'd rather we did have that pressure put on us.

Flip us and Wyoming and I think they've got it. Also not sold on AFA. I think they may take a slide this year.

Flip us and Wyoming and I think they've got it. Also not sold on AFA. I think they may take a slide this year. Wyoming has a scheduled advantage in playing SDSU, CSU, and AFA at home. Those three teams are their closest competition. CSU on the other hand, plays Wyoming, SDSU, and AFA on the road. That schedule difference is enough to place Wyoming over CSU even if they were the same team. SDSU plays CSU and AFA at home but must travel to Wyoming. AFA must play on the road against the two teams nipping at their heels, Wyoming and SDSU. If they slip in one of those games it could be enough to place them in the 4-4 tie with that team at the end of the season.

We will finish ahead of either Air Force or Wyoming. If everything falls our way and we have no major injuries, we could finish ahead of both of them.

Those three teams are their closest competition. True enough. But so is this: @ Texas Boise State AFA @ Toledo (which has beaten Colorado, Iowa St. and Kansas there the last four years) @ TCU Utah @ BYU Bottom Line: Wyoming could be completely demoralized before they ever get to us, UNM, UNLV and CSU.

I agree SGF. I think they will have a hard time just getting to 500 this year.

The next couple years wyo, air force and SDSU will be the middle 3, we need to control that. We matched up well with air force on the road and just turned the game over, blew the WYO game - hopefully we sack up and finish 4th

Wyoming and Air Force are properly ahead of us until such time as we demonstrate we can defeat them. The MWC media does not have access to the same kool aid we drink and rose colored glasses we wear. All they see are impressive wins by AFA and Wyo. against us last year. When they look at us all they see is a late season collapse. We have to show it before anyone will believe it. In Hoke we trust. Anywhere from 4th to last is reasonable. For the normal fan looking at our league, there is no reason for anyone to have confidence in the team. We have not been good for so long, the media or other fans have no reason to expect anything from sdsu.
That being said, I think we will be much better this year (through my rose colored glasses).

Still think Wyoming is a bit overrated. They beat everyone with losing records and lost to everyone with winning records last year. The ball may have bounced in their favor last year it may not this year. I don't remember AF scoring a TD against us last year. I do remember we threw close to a half dozen ints. The game is here this year- so maybe, just maybe, we put one together.

WYO's qb makes plays, they built some momentum last year, I think they could be strong; Air Force we shut down on defense, and even handing them the ball inside our territory over and over again, we did a big time job against the triple option, they lose a lot of players. I think it will be extremely tough for us to beat WYO up there, but I think we might be able to hammer Air Force -- but of course, it depends on how the 3 programs open up.

Wyo Schedule 2010: September 4 Southern Utah September 11 at Texas BOWL TEAM
September 18 Boise State BOWL TEAM
September 25 Air Force BOWL TEAM
October 2 at Toledo BOWL TEAM
October 9 at TCU BOWL TEAM
October 16 Utah BOWL TEAM
October 23 at Brigham Young BOWL TEAM
October 30 San Diego State (2010 BOWL TEAM)
November 6 at New Mexico November 13 at UNLV
November 20 Colorado State
Really you think Wyo is going to be a challenge by the time we meet them realizing what their schedule is? Me thinks NOT! depth has NEVER been a Wyo trait...
We will kill them (San a Lindley injury)

We will kill them (San a Lindley injury) Not going to look it up, but we've only won a handful of games all time Laramie, have won basically a road game a year the past few years; it will be hard regardless. and, they could be demoralized and quit when they play us (which I am sure our past teams would have done if they were in their shoes) or the could be looking at the first game of a stretch where they have to win-out against the bottom half of the league to go to a bowl game. You assume playing the big boys means they are going to be injured - maybe; could just as well mean that with whom they've played they will be seasoned to crush those final four teams.
