Dude has one hell of a legacy in the NFL. Thoughts & prayers to his family. Agreed.

If you can't say something nice, don't say nothing at all. So, I'll shut up now. +1 Count me in that category.......after all, it's really not nice to speak ill of the dead.

Al certainly was a guy for all of in San Diego to hate. I once had an opportunity to chat with him on the sidelines of a practice of the Gold Bowl which was played here in S.D. around 1980 or so....I had a fantasy team way back then and went to the practice to observe the talent. Al was there and I remember walking up to him and spoke about a wide receiver whom I was very impressed with at the practice...He told me he liked him a lot and not to tell anyone....He actually was a nice guy believe it or not...I can't remember the player's name, however, he was a bust in the NFL. As much as we didn't like him, I always heard that players and staff loved the guy....He took care of his players, UNLIKE our current ownership....The Spanos family do not and I have heard stories about how rude and condescending Alex was to employees....

Alex hasn't had anything to do with the day-to-day operations of the team for over 15 years. It's all Dean now, and I have never heard anyone complain about how Dean treats the players........AJ Smith, now, that may be a different story.......

agree, however apples don't fall far from tree Yeah, well, I was there and saw it first hand. Alex may have been <fill in the blank here>, but Dean is not his father. He's there every day, and he treats the players pretty well.
