Go, Trask! Hoke says the team plays for its seniors. I am starting to see why, especially as he rebuilds. What a reward, after suffering through years of incompetence, to finally play for a coach and staff that know what they are doing. So, team, go get a bowl game and a bowl-game victory for this group of seniors who began under Craft, suffered Long, and are now playing their final year of college ball! I don't know about Trask, but it's not wise to stick with seniors only. I think Hoke did it last year strictly because he wasn't sure of what he inherited. Now he does. When you're building a team you need to go with the best, regardless of class. Make no mistake, we're still building. Hoke has said it several times and it's not about playing the seniors; it's about playing for the seniors, most of whom will be playing the last football of their lives. He definitely plays his best. But part of the motivation is to play for the seniors each year, so that their year can be as special as possible in terms of success, wins and losses, a bowl game.

It's a nice cliche, but not uncommon.

Oh....my mistake. Sorry about that.
Let me change my statement then.....Trask must be great, because Chuck Long didn't sign him. (But now this means that Chuck Long and staff "developed" this good player in his early year......Ohhhh, The Horrer!!!!)
Lindley and Vincent Brown must be terrible because Chuck Long signed them.

Don't let facts deter you from blind allegiance to a coach that sported a .250 winning percentage Blind allegiance? I have said he wasn't a very good head coach, was soft, and I wasn't sure he would ever get us over the 8 win mark. PS...He would have won 6 last year.

He wasn't invoked nor did he recruit him and you invoked him and stated he did; you believe that a coach that averaged 3 wins and had a team that got destroyed the last 3/4 of the previous season would magically win 6 games -- that, kind sir, is blind allegiance Holy crazy crusade, Chuck-Man!

Incorrect Mr. Instigator.....I said that anybody taking over a program that was in the condition ours was when Chuck Long took over, should be given a MINIMUM of 4 years to turn it around. In fact, probably 5 or 6. Holy Long Haters Monty!!!!

With all due respect Steve, you need to do more research on recruits before posting.
We already had the debacle I had to clear up when you swore that Long, at Oklahoma, recruited Jason White and Josh Heupel.
Come on bud. Let it go.
There was little to like about Longs classes. Sure, he got some players. Any coach will. Some kids will just want to stay local, or have no other good offers.
I don't think Lindley had a decent offer besides SDSU if I remember the recruiting articles correctly.
Still, he was a good get.

On this board I told the MOD that I would cool the Long talk from the start......Unless (or until) others started talking about the subject again. You guys did, so here we are again. Fact is....You guys want to talk about Chuck Long. Hey, he is an Aztec.

With all due respect Josh, if I researched something every time I post, there wouldn't be enough hours in the day to do anything else. Since about 99% of my posts (60,000 or more) are correct WITHOUT research, I don't feel it to be real important to spend all that time researching little things. After all, it is just a sports board.

Noticed that on the MWC pre season selections my guy Trask, a fifth year senior-four year starter, didn't even get a sniff!!
