I wouldn't be surprised if he got another D1 opportunity either as an OF or HC.

I wouldn't be surprised if he got another D1 opportunity either as an OF or HC. He was an excellent offensive coordinator in '95 & '96 when he was with the Aztecs. We beat some BCS teams like California, Oklahoma, and Utah, Nevada. Craft definitely knows his offense. That is for sure!

Kansas had a bye so they didn't lose yesterday.
Nice job, Chuck.

That is for sure! Then why did he fare so miserably as the HC/OC here? For one, he didn't fail MISERABLY. True he didn't get it done. You're one of the guys that continually like to make him out to be worse than he was. You know he inherited a $#!+ program at the time, coupled with the fact that he had no HC experience at the time as well. Of course it was going to take some time to get it going, especially with the schedule they gave him, and the non existent budget he was working with. They told him that he better win NOW or that was it, so he took some chances. Do want to remember that he lost Adam Hall at a crucial time? I didn't think you wanted to. That's just one example of many.

He came into a real $#!+ situation in Dec 01 when he took over. People refused to take the job. Then we had a decent year in 03. 04, we were hit big time by injuries and 05 we were competitive. Much better than Long ever did or Hoke in 2009 plus he had way less resources to work with back then.

Team should of gone 10-1. Its amazing that back then 8-3 wasn't good enough for a bowl game.

Recruiting guys that don't qualify, slapping a player, low APR's, drunk, low grad rates, no nutrition program, lack of players doing summer workouts, lawsuit. Yeah, let's blame it on the "$#!+ situation". He's a jc coach, period. He left us in worse shape.

He was using the slap as an example for the players. He used poor judgement there. He shouldn't have touched a player. It was not in malice.

Craft was not a miserable head coach, but i think Tuff is correct in his accessment. Being a D1 coach is a lot more than X's and O's. Running a program is about things that you might not have to deal with in JC

After sitting in on many of Craft's installment meetings and film breakdowns, I gotta say the guy is a football genius. In fact Coach White used to rave about Craft's playbook and originality/design.
However, no one liked the 3rd and long QB draws... No one...

Craft is agreat JC caoch can not argue that but your facts are inacvcurate He struck two players (MIke K,R Fletcher) players not one, and your own agenda is shpwing. I will give you he is a great JC coach.can't argue that. You were not there and neither was I but I posted a deceleration under oath that contradicts your opinion. "There was also a slapping incident, according to Jonathan Ingram, for which Craft later was forced to apologize. "Coach Craft then began to talk to the whole team about a fight that some players were involved in a few days before this meeting," Ingram recalled. "Coach Craft was extremely upset and his voice was raised above his normal level of talking. I was standing next to the red-shirt freshman player Mike Kracalik, who was on a knee while listening to Coach Craft. "Coach Craft had his hands on his hips, and he was explaining to us that he was tired of hearing about football players retaliating and fighting when confronted by people looking for fights. He stated, 'I'm tired of hearing you players getting caught and getting kicked out of school.' He further added, 'If someone walks up to you, just walk away. If someone walks up to you and hits you, you can't hit back.' "After saying this, Coach Craft raised his right hand and slapped player Mike Kracalik across the left cheek of his face. The slap was hard and unbelievable. Mike dropped his head down. I asked myself, 'Did he just do that?' I was shocked at how hard he hit Mike, and I was embarrassed for him. Coach Craft continued to talk, and I watched Mike raise his head back up and pay attention to Coach Craft. This incident scared me. I looked at Coach Craft much differently from then on."
