New Mexico loses to Sam Houston St. (48-45)
UNLV losing to Southern Utah (4th quarter; 27-10)
Weren't we and UNLV going to be a package deal to the Big 12? HAHA

HAHA How long have I been saying that even assuming the MW gains two-year provisional AQ status in December or thereafter that with the composition of the league as it now is there's no chance of retaining it thereafter? UNM and UNLV are just awful. UNM is definitely worse than the 2008 Aztecs and UNLV probably is. And just how good is CSU? I didn't watch any of it but folks on the MW board said the USU Naggies just gave the game to the Rams on a silver platter. (I'll quit now and allow those who still think the MW is a good conference for SDSU jump in here.)

Ouch-o-roony! Some package. As I said elsewhere we (and other MWC schools) are not quite ready for prime time. Gotta keep those expectations within reason, right! Anyway, some of those other scores make our game today look not so bad. AzWm

The same Hawaii team that got throttled by UNLV is up 21-0 on UC Davis. UNLV couldn't beat UC Davis.

Maybe the talks with C-USA aren't so outrageous after all

Locksley has to be the most disastrous hire I've ever seen, and that's not hyperbole.
2-26!

I predict Paul Wulff & wazzu will win vs. bye today! You mean BYE won't be undefeated when we play them next week? Darn, I was hoping we would be the first to upset them.

Don't lump us into that group. We played the winningest program in college football history on the road and lost -- one game. Sure, we didn't play well, but its not the end of the world and it doesn't lump us into the CSU-UNLV-UNM category. Ouch-o-roony! Some package. As I said elsewhere we (and other MWC schools) are not quite ready for prime time. Gotta keep those expectations within reason, right! Anyway, some of those other scores make our game today look not so bad. AzWm

This is a very attractive idea for the bottom half of the conference. Not so good for the top half. I consider us to be in the top half. Maybe the talks with C-USA aren't so outrageous after all

damn, what a clusterf*** in Albuquerque They renegotiated Locksley's contract after last season so the buyout is only $450K, or about $1M less than SDSU owed Chuckles. UNM plays arch rival NMSU on Saturday and then has a bye. If Locksley loses that one, he's sure to be fired on Sunday.

Lets not generalize about the whole conference in this thread just because of the bottom 2 teams. Keep in mind that the overall conference record is 18-12 right now. Remove UNLV and UNM and the conference record is 17-5. That's pretty damn good if you ask me. Kudos to WYO and CSU for at least winning against the teams that they should.

Indiana and Minnesota are horrible, and Northwestern lost at Army. Does that mean the Big "10" stinks?

The Big Ten doesn't have to concern itself with trying to become an AQ conference. The Big Ten can therefore afford to have two miserable teams. The MW can't.

Every conference has bad teams, Rocky mentioned that in his press conference. Our immediate goal is to win the MWC. No need to look back on who's in the cellar and we shouldn't talk $#!+ since we were cellar dwellers for many years (karma talking). If you recall how bad things were, I'm sure you can still feel the sting (I do).
And losing to Michigan brought some of us back to earth and keep our noses to what we have. The work isn't done, we still have a long way to go before we're as good as we want to be.
