Wow, if every high paid administrator could step up like him. Just think. Since he makes $400,000 a year, under the Obama debt plan.... Oldie Out

Let's see if he does it every year - or just this time to silence some vocal critics.
However, the fact remains that the entire package was offered to him. He didn't ask for the extra $100k. No one in their right mind is going to turn that kind of money down if it's offered. Hirshman gets brownie points for making lemonade with it.

He forfeited a fourth of his pay. Now, if only the rest of the CSU campuses presdients did that same, our system might start to rise towards the black again. Nice donation!

It was the right, and smart decision particulalry with the kick-off of the public part of the foundation push. i don't expect guys to give up that type of chunk of change on a regular basis, but, have to applaud him correctly reading this situation to start his tenure seeing as, at his age and where this school is now, he'll be here for at least the next dozen years, best to get off on the right foot

I'd give a 100 K if I could... alas, season BB & FB tickets plus an extra $1000 donation is all I can muster.
