Am I the only one that thought Hillman looked a little off today? Obviously, the two fumbles were bad, but that could have been nerves, etc. It looked to me like he wasn't explosive and didn't see the field well. I know he didn't get much help and his numbers weren't that bad, but he didn't look like Ronnie Hillman to me...he looked like an average back that took what was given to him but didn't make anything happen . Anyone else notice this?

He did not look as fast on artificial grass as he does on the real stuff.

He's a soph. running who is still learning. He'll get better in situations like this. I think this gets lost when we see him have tremendous games or when local sports reporter starts talking about him going pro. The week off will help the team as a whole.

I was there, he didn't get much help. He stills stutters when he should run straight ahead and get that extra yard. Hoke knew to have a shadow on him all the time. Big disadvantage for State in general. Rocky should have used him as a decoy more.
OH well, one game on to TCU

It's funny, but when the OL and DL get dominated, RB's and QB's don't play very well. The Aztecs need to get bigger and better upfront. Hoke knows our all of weaknesses and they have an NFL DC to implement them on defense and Borges on offense. He has a great staff. The main problem is that other teams can now look at the film and see what Michigan did to us and copy their schemes.
BTW those fumbles were Hillman's first fumbles since he his first carry as a freshman (368 carries). The first one looked like it was after the whistle. The second one came from behind and unexpected so I could see how it occurred. The thing is since the DC coached for the Ravens in the NFL they probably emphasize turnovers more than other college teams.

I thought he looked like his normal self, except for the fumbles. He also didn't get any big breakaways, but that is bound to happen once in a while.

Hillman had a helluva better game than our OL or QB.

No one has mentioned that he rushed for over 100 yrds again. Exactly. I will repeat myself (from another thread) by stating how much we have progressed based on what someone (I think on the post-game show) remarked, by way of praising the Michigan D. The man said that Hillman got "only" 110 yards rushing! ! ! Well, I think that was on 21 carries, which means a five-yards per carry average. Most teams are pretty happy when their best runner gets 110 yards against a tough opponent. We did not lose to MI because of Ronnie Hillman. AzWm

Having said that, it was amazing to me that he gained over 100 yards that day, especially the way our O'Line was being pushed around.

Got to give Michigan some credit people. i was there close to the action and their lineman and speed of their defense was pretty impressive. i really do feel they had a big advantage in knowing all of our players. Hillman will be better for this and so will our team. You've got to get beat by better teams before you can rise up to that level.

Their coaches(Funk for sure), knew our olinemen's limitations so their dlinemen didn't hesitate to read and react. That's what made them look quick. They just bullrushed on every down. I don't think it's fair to judge Ludwig's game plan since the players failed to execute it because of the above. Still oddly enough, we had our chances in the passing game. Hoke knew it was going to be up to Lindley by stacking the line to slow Hillman down. His gamble paid off. Anyway Michigan should enjoy it while they can. It's their calm before the storm. Their defense is going to get burned big time when they go into conference play.

BYU did it to Hoke last year. I reckon that's where he got the idea.

YAWN. you'VE made it very clear what you're opinion of Lindley is. How many more times are we going to have to read your whining? I'd love to see what you could do playing in front of 110,000 hostile fans, assuming you ever played in any organized football league, including Pop Warner. =bOB
