Last week Ludwig was a genius. This week we should throw him off the bus. We are a fickle group here. We lost to what looks like abetter team in front of 100000+ fans playing against our old coaching staff. Would have like to won but it would have been an upset. TCU and AFA are next. Lets just slow down here.

I don't think you can fairly assess Ludwig's play calling today given the poor execution by the players.
"The team's execution? I'm in favor of it..."

Oldie Out and as bad we played in the first half, finish that drive with a TD, it's 21 - 14 and we've got ourselves a ballgame. So many missed opportunities today.

Oldie Out +1 Borges came here and told the team that they were going to line up and play smashmouth football and there was no other option. Ludwig seems to want to run a spread hybrid of some sort rather than line up and poundthe ball inside.

I thought Borges called an extremely poor third quarter for UM. He obviously wanted Denard to throw the ball, got cocky, and could have lost the game. Denard is not a passing QB, live with it Borges. As far as I'm concerned, UM can keep this arrogant blah, blah, blah. Our Aztecs just had a bad day; a team that fought against all odds and lost. That's it. Poor passing, fumbles on what appeared to be scoring drives, dropped passes, etc.,etc. Now, let's go kick some horn frog ass. Plaza sect. 38 - I'll be there.

I'm just curious what his base offensive philosophy will be. He adapted this year to make things easy on Lindely, but what will he do next year? We have the personnel for it, so we should be playing more power football.

Borges is doing exactly what he did in SD his first year. Trying to instill toughness in a team full of spread offense players. His first year here wasn't that great, but the next year the team lined up and ran people over. If the game got close again, Borges would have turned Robinson loose again.

After getting off to the early lead, Borges knew they could just call qb draws all day long if they wanted to. Instead, he spent the rest of the game essentially working on things for later in the season. While it didn't work out so well, they were never in any danger of losing the game and if they were he knew he could just call qb draws and move the chains with ease any time he needed to. Bottom line is this was essentially a scrimmage for Michigan. And that pains me to say, but it is true.

Everyone seems to be forgetting about Hoke knowing our players inside and out. I'm willing to bet he knew Hillman's tendencies and how to get him to fumble. That got him benched and was a big loss.

State's offense still needs work, we knew that in the beginning. It just needed to be tested.
We found the flaws, they need to be addressed and adjusted. Live and learn.
Oldie Out

Sorry, I loved the 4th and 1 call. They had 9 men on the line waiting to stack hillman up. The TE was wide open. Lindley made a horrible pass. He was off all day. He connects on even half of those and Ludwig looks like a genius.

He has been around longer. Still have to execute and we haven't. Agreed. The reason(s) we lost had nothing to do with Borges outcoachig Ludwig - though I wish to frickin' hell that Ludwig would figure out that Umuolo is available. I hardly even saw Alston on the field today.
